Will Rand Paul plunge the world into catastrophic depression?

Two posts in a row with no cartoons. Has to be a record.

Regardless, Paul is going to get laughed out of Washington if even attempts to try half the ideas he is proposing.

Some of the ideas aren't bad, the rest are absolutely ridiculous.
No, what's absolutely ridiculous is that most of his ideas seem ridiculous to people. Shows you how far gone we are as a society. ABOLISH THE FED!

If Paul or some combo of TPers gets up there and seriously blocks a raise in the debt ceiling to make a point, I wonder how many of you conservatives will be so proud of that, as you live out of your cars on crumbling infrastructure highways, with hordes of hungry villagers banging on the windshield and trying to eat your dog..

Hey, this fear mongering thing with no evidence is pretty fun ! And easy ! Maybe Beck is on to something.

Let me try something else.... "Hey, buy crap."

Let's see if anyone bites.

Except yours really IS fear mongering with absolutely no evidence. I don't expect you to see the difference but facts... I know, facts are inconvenient things for liberals.

Your post might even pass as humor if Dems had not so often used rhetoric every bit as ridiculous to demagogue Republican efforts to act like adults when it came to budgets. For instance the 90's were a prime opportunity to use an expanding economy to cut gov't. Dems claimed that cutting increases in various social programs from 7% to 4.5% were "draconian". Clinton said that budgets had to reflect Dem "priorities"... IOW's pay off their voters with taxpayer dollars.

When the GOP tried to again play the adult and say, "No, we have to cut spending"... Clinton with his liberal friends in the media demonized them for "shutting down the gov't".

You and other liberals act as if this is a new game being played by the GOP when actually they are just starting to catch up.

Let's discuss the ones you think are ridiculous and why.

At one point in time all of Europe's elite, educated class laughed and mocked the notion that common people could be self-governing. Within 50 years, the US with its laisse-faire/libertarian gov't and self governance had gone from colonial holdings to one of the most powerful nations on earth.

Religious freedom and rights of conscience were once viewed as absurd notions.

The point: Right is right if no one believes in it. Wrong is wrong if everyone believes in it.

When, exactly, have Republicans done ANYTHING for deficits and the national debt except run them through the roof? Reagan did it, as did both Bushes. (Yes, the debt increased during the Clinton Administration, but they DID balance the budget AND run a surplus by the time they left office). The various policies of GW Bush will add as much as $17 Trillion over the coming decades.

Republicans have screamed long enough and loud enough since 1980 to pound the "tax and spend liberal" meme into the national psyche, but the truth is that THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO CREDIBILITY ON THIS ISSUE!!! (OK, done yelling).

Also, I'm curious... is RP going to grab all those Kentucky earmarks he was talking about yesterday BEFORE he filibusters the debt resolution?

And, do the Cons not remember what happened the last time they tried this? Please, if there is a God in Heaven, please let them try this again, and then run Mama Grizzly for President and RP for VP.... Lord, in your mercy....
