Will Tennessee Make The NCAA's?

I could care less if she wore a tutu and cowboy boots
People need to get off Holly’s appearance and dress, that has nothing to do with coaching. I just want our Lady Vols to win, even if the coach looks like Bozo the clown. Let us hope that somehow they can turn this thing around. I am so proud how they hung in there against Missouri. They did an excellent job controlling Cunningham. They can beat A&M, because A&M is basically the Carter show, we slow her down, control the boards and make sensible shots, we have a better than even chance to win.

I hope their are seeded 16th and put in Ucan'ts bracket. :) beat em early!
Cannot happen because the lowest seed they can get is 12? I too wondered how they could be last 4 in but be a number 12 seed. Something about automatic bids for the lower conferences.

17-8. 5-1 after the 6 game losing streak...6 games remaining. They can’t lose any more to get a decent seed in the SEC tourney. I think to get a spot they HAVE to win to get in. Or is their current record guaranteeing them a spot in the dance currently??? What would have to happen for them to miss out completely??
I think we could lose one more game and be okay. I honestly believe if we lose two games any two games, will be out of the NCAA

Our Massey Rating jumped up 12 spots to 32 after the Mizzou win, and our Massey SOS is up to 29.

Creme has the LVs back as a 9 seed. With the LVs' SOS, finishing 2-2 in the regular season with an SECT W is doable. They could even move up a spot in the SEC standings and get better seeding for another W. Unless they totally collapse, I think the committee wants them in and they've put themselves in position to stay in the field.

They have put themselves in position to stay in the field but it would be nice to get a decisive victory over a top team down the stretch.

Seeding is going to be incredibly important. We need to try and avoid an 8-9 seed because playing a 1 in the second round is certain death.

Our hope should be to grab a 6-7 (or even 10-11) and get a 2-3 in the second.

Even if we play our absolute best, we can only make the S16 imo, though I think we will likely be a 1st round exit.

Missouri win puts Tennessee in a good spot. As long as they beat Vandy and Ole Miss I think they're in. Win against SC or A&M and it's a lock. I like the better effort from the players lately but more success also means a good chance of Holly sticking around another year (or 2). I dont see Fulmer getting rid of her unless he really has to (aka missing the tournament) so it's a bit of a catch 22.

If they find their way into the tournament, and it looks like they have, there is no way UT is getting rid of her. None

I think they will, however, it is not a lock. Holly has to find a way to keep the team up in big games after the half. This is a sad time in women's basketball when one of the premier programs is on the bubble for the first team ever. With 6 D1 players, there is simply no excuse except ineffective leadership. Don't blame it all on the players, blame it where the buck stops, the head coach.
I think they one of the best 64-plus 4 teams in the NCAA. I also think they have a 50-50 chance of winning at least one game in the NCAA. Two wins would be as surprise.

We could lose against SC and A&M and, in all probability, we would still be in (As long as we win the other games).
They will take 7 or 8 teams from the SEC. The Missouri win practically guarantees that UT is in that group.

Possibly,
but with the taste we left in the NCAA's mouth, we better think towards "more than enough"...There is already enough "good enough" thinkers out there already

I don't really see it happening either....on paper she'll have 7 straight 20 win seasons under her belt and a loaded roster next year with McDonald's AAs across the board and the #2 recruit coming in. I just hope for the sake of the talented freshman and sophomore classes that they bring in someone new who wont waste their talent. Westbrook, Green and Davis are excellent players who should become All-Americans with proper coaching. Holly isn't going to get them to that level though.

Tennessee is a lock for the NCAA tournament at this point. If they were to win their next four games, certainly a tall order, they'd be a 5 seed. If they lose out, they'll sneak in as an 11 or 12.

Your Opinion on the NCAA tournament. A likely scenario for the lady vols is they go 2-3 the rest of the regular season and 1-1 in the SEC tournament. That would put them at 19-12. Would they likely get in with this record?
I think we have to win at least 20 to get in, but part of me believes the committee wants the LV brand because that equals ticket sales...but maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

Honestly, if they lost out I would be disappointed if the committee put them in the tournament.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall!

Agreed. If you plan on playing for the title, you gotta beat the big dog sooner or later, I'd as soon as beat them early than beat them late. If you're not planning to play for the title, give your slot to someone who will.

Creme has lost all credibility with me. He's employed by ESPN and ESPN has been cutting left and right. He says what drives ESPN's ratings/ clicks on a day to day basis. But I agree that the Committee wants us in for essentially the same reason - ratings is revenue.

Unfortunately IMO it is wishful thinking. The LV "brand" stopped being a draw several years ago outside our own fanbase. Heck our own fanbase is dwindling rapidly and we'd be lucky to have a couple dozen of the most faithful travel to the NCAA tourney.

To be fair, attendance at all early round and even regional NCAA sites has been so god awful the last few years our 2 dozen travelers might stand out. But I doubt the selection committee even thinks about attendance much anymore when they pick and seed, We might get a sympathy selection if we're on the bubble, but that would be more due to tradition and nostalgia than ticket selling.

Yeah there’s no way they miss if they go 0-6 to finish 17-14. The women don’t have an NIT correct? 18-8 now with 5 to go so yeah they are a lock....meaning Holly gets another freaking pass AGAIN....
