Personally I have more concern for recruiting and getting the OL and DL bigger and stronger for next year.

The NCAA sanctions don't affect Freeze from working somewhere else. He got fired for extracurricular activity on a university phone. They never found evidence tying Freeze to recruiting violations.
Come on....
They don't issue Show Cause penalties and a bowl ban for calling a hooker.

Freeze is now being sought after by FSU as well. Chad Winthrow reporting there may be “hurdles” being put in the way by UT officials. We are blowing this, again.

As of right now, I am leaning “yes” the board etc will screw this up. It’s starting to seem like we will promote from within or hire another coach we all need to google about. They don’t care about a splash hire that would immediately pay dividends. Why? Because a splash hire coach can’t be controlled as easily as an “up and comer”.

Tennessee and their boosters/trustees are going to fiddle fart around and Freeze is going to go somewhere else. We’re going to be stuck with Eliah Drinkwitz or Will Friend. When this happens, mattresses will burn, ticket sales will drop, and Pruitt will not have a job in 4 years. But it’s not Pruitt’s fault. In fact it’s not his fault at all. It’s the BOT fault for allowing this program to be the dumpster fire that it is today. I don’t know if Boyd has anything to do with this hire or not, but if he does, he better be pushing the Haslams and other donors to work with Pruitt and Fulmer on this. This is absolutely ridiculous and I’m tired of the Boosters and Trustees deciding everything at UT. Heck, there’s no point in even having an athletics department if the trustees are gonna block everything. Haslams and rest of trustees ought to be ashamed for the way they continually treat this fanbase. I still hope it’s Freeze or Enos, but unfortunately neither are gonna happen. Once again, Tennessee Tennessees their way out of a home run hire.

I agree. This hire should have been made already.

Just read an interesting article that suggests Freeze is waiting to see what jobs become available. He seems to want a head coaching job.

How do you know Fulmer has threatened to cut off donations? Rumors?
Who cares, regardless I’m tired of the BOT having a say on who we are allowed to hire. Screw them. I’m tired of losing and hiring the bottom of the barrel coaches. This crap gets old!

This is becoming comical. I fully expect to be played, and then see Hugh Freeze join Alabama. Show me otherwise.
Well, there’s the reality that none of what you referenced has occurred, ........
Some of you folks need to realize this is not happening on your timeframe. Relax for say, a few more days - if the sky falls by the EOM, you will be justified, but until it happens, why go thru the gyrations ?

If it’s Friend or Drinkwitz, all bets are off. Point is we have had a chance to hire not one, not two, but THREE guys that would have turned the offense around dramatically.
Even if we get Freeze our offense isn’t going to magically be top 10 next year. Need more talent

It’s their job to have a say so. That’s how public institutions work. They are trustees of the state of Tennessee to represent its interests regarding the university.

I'd lean more towards that being what's really going on.

Sure looks like sbnation and steven godfrey want to completely destroy freeze's life over what basically the ncaa found was rogue boosters and an asst to freeze. Lets remeber nothing was really pinned on freeze by the ncaa other than not watching his asst closely enough.
