That’s because SARs eradicated itself. It was unable to survive after herd immunity and treatment of individuals with it. Hence why there hasn’t been a need for a vaccine. Like this virus they are seeing mutations get weaker. Which means soon this virus will not be very strong especially if people develop immunities by coming into contact with it.

The anti body tests are no more faulty than the way we keep the statistics for covid 19. Probably less so, as scientists in LA, NY, Germany, Sweden and Italy all use antibody tests to predict the true number of cases.

I agree with your sentiment of wanting to get a more accurate anti-body tests.

Before that I want more accurate data on how many people actually have covid-19 and who was actually killed by it.

Should be no assumptions. They should know from a test not just symptoms. If you die from it they need to cite what underlying health conditions they had if any. Toss out the superficial data so we can have a better picture of this.

There will never be a test that reaches the accuracy you describe. Pregnancy tests are 98% specific. That's really good. But it also means if you test 100 people who are for sure not pregnant, for example 100 men, it will be incorrect (say pregnancy is present when it is not) in 2 of those men.

Correct first covid-19 death reported by California was first week of February. Which means It was there Atleast early to mid january. Which means it was probably in the US well before that.

I'm really not trying to argue with you. You seem "pretty cool". I was unclear on your original point from the post about ease of contagion. You mentioned Trousdale prison. I actually was verifying in giving you the numbers that it was highly contagious. I was then wondering if you were trying to further comment on "deadlineess" or danger of the virus. That part was unclear to me. I was then further stating those numbers to show that even though it was contagious, it had almost no effect on a huge prison population in confined spaces. I think that is where we diverged on the conversation. From there, I think we disagree on what is good data and a good comparison scenario. It seems risky to me for an event to be hosted when the CDC says that protective equipment, continuous disinfecting, arrangements for those who become ill, etc must be provided for crowds over 250. The current State executive order says there should be no gatherings over 10.

This is true but that occurred over the period of 12 months. COVID-19 has been extant only since February.

So we know for a fact that the true numbers of deaths attributed to COVID have been artificially skewed to look more deadly. Also, this virus has been around longer than February. Antibody tests have confirmed this. Also, if it is so much more contagious and deadly, why haven’t there been massive deaths in the prison population and in nursing homes?

Oh and I am glad you brought up Trousdale prison. So one person out of 1246 infected. It was a 67 year old man. Also, the exact cause of death is unknown. But since COVID is ASSUMED, then the cause of death will likely be COVID. You don’t see a huge problem with assuming what killed a person?? How many prisoners who have tested positive are hospitalized? How many in critical condition?

So, I have a question for you. It seems we got close to agreeing about the prison in some manner. Let's call the prison a miniature NYC based on density and living conditions. Why was there an explosion of illness in NYC and barely any noticeable effects in a Tennessee prison with similar conditions or environments? That is what is perplexing.

You don't have to be sick to pass it around, only infected. You don't want to be around an asymptomatic infected person anymore than you want to be around an infected sick person who is coughing all over the place with a fever.

If only 2% of the American population gets sick, 250,000 die.

I'm confused. Where you do you get that 250k die if 7M get sick. The antibody studies done thus far suggest that more than 7M may already have been sick.

I think the part I disagree with is the concept that we can isolate to the point where this goes away. I believe that is neither practical nor possible. Instead, I believe the more plausible course of action to be building up some level of immunity and thus my comment based on the results in Hartsville.
