Will this finally settle the Manning - Brady debate?

No way to know. There are many in the discussion, Brady is certainly one of them. But Montana, Manning, Rodgers, Elway, Young, Marino, Brees......every one of them is as good if not better than Tom Brady.

I'm a MONTANA guy....but NO....NONE of those guys have accomplished more with LESS than BRADY....

This is just VOL homerism at its WORST!

BRADY is the single consistent PLAYER over the last 17 years on the Patriots. And last time I checked....Belichik doesn't call plays on offense.
How many OCs have the Patriots had over the last 17 years??

How many OCs did Manning have for the Colts? for Denver?
Watch the interviews---it was MANNING'S SYSTEM on offense all those years for the Colts. The OC was just there to give advice.

Manning had the SAME GUYS working the same routes to establish the SAME TIMING over the great majority of his career.
IT was MANNING'S system....and he knew how to get his offense into the right play....but when that broke down, HE WAS DONE!

Brady has NEVER had that luxury!!

IF anything....MANNING is a SYSTEM QB!

GAME WINNING drives in the PLAYOFFS.....

Brady = 12
John Elway = 6
Joe Montana = 6
Eli Manning = 5
Dan Marino = 4

Peyton Manning = 2....

It ain't even close! And Brady has done it WITHOUT HOF players.....

SIMPLY STATED..... BRADY is THE GUY you want at QB with the game on the line---BAR NONE!

So much for this "SYSTEM" crap...... It's just LAZINESS to use that argument....and flat out WRONG, TOO!
Biggest differential between what Brady has and what Peyton had is defense. Brady always has an above average defense, sometimes a great defense.

When Peyton had an above average or great defense, it was an anomaly. His Colts defenses were routinely average or even below average. It's no coincidence that Peyton won his SB with the Colts with by far the best defense he had while in Indy, and he won the SB in Denver with an incredible defense.

Between the two, I agree that Peyton actually has advantages over Brady when it comes to offense. Over the balance of their careers, Peyton had way more elite weapons to throw the ball to. With the exception of Moss and Gronk, Brady has done what he's done with a rotating cast of solid, but not elite, guys around him. And Moss was only there for 3+ years and Gronk has missed a ton of time due to injury.

I dont remember Peyton and Tom ever playing against each other.....

Maybe neither Peyton or Tom or any modern day QB's are the greatest.... since the league has decided to "protect" the QB and they have been almost coddled for years now... I think it may have been Jack Lambert that said ..."why dont you just put a dress and high heels on em"...

Here's a stat shown today on Get Up:

Most game-winning drives in a Super Bowl by any QB not named Tom Brady: 2 (Eli Manning and Terry Bradshaw)

Most game-winning drives in a Super Bowl by any QB: 6 (Tom Brady)

Thanks. Read em all. Stat after stat after stat shows that the same or better QB performances from other top QBs of the same era that Brady has had over the years wins him far more games because he plays for the Pats. The Pats ultimately win because of Belichick, not Brady. Tom plays his role very well in a superior system. There are many, many other contemporary QBs that would’ve won as much or more games and titles as Brady has.
Weird, in a few months we will be saying its all about the players and not the coach.

Lots of things influence all those stats.

The PATs win because they have a great coach, and a great QB.

SO....I guess we just refuse to acknowledge that Manning's 2nd SB WIN was more about Denver's D than Manning's QB play???

And you guys seem to forget about the Colts' Defensive play thru the playoffs for Manning's first SB win against da Bears....as well as Manning's choke against the Ravens in the 2012 playoffs at home--which took 2 special teams TDs just to keep Denver in that game....not to mention his INTs against the Saints in his 2nd SB.....

Manning was a GREAT QB....NO way anyone can doubt that fact. But his playoff performances were certainly not great over the whole of his career.

I should start debating without taking a position, would be much easier.

Brady is a great QB. But THE reason the Pats have had the success they’ve had is Bill Belichick, his system and Pats management. Any one of a dozen other QBs other than Tom Brady would’ve won all those games and Titles with Bill Belichick and that incredible system they run (offensively and defensively) that nobody else can figure out.

Put Dan Marino on the field in a DOME for the COLTS during Manning's greatest years and he wins DOUBLE the playoff games and SBs as Manning.

Who's this "you guys" - I'm agreeing with you. You can very easily argue that the Broncos won the SB that year in spite of Peyton. He was an absolute turnover machine that year. And the Colts defense in 2006 was by far the best defense Peyton had while in Indy.

My point was that Brady has had a definite advantage over Peyton on the defensive side of the ball. Brady routinely has a very good, sometimes great, defense. While in Indy, Peyton routinely had mediocre defenses. I think Peyton had an advantage over Brady on the offensive side of the ball. Peyton had a HOF receiver to throw the ball to for his entire Colts career and a 6x Pro Bowler in Reggie Wayne. Brady had Moss for 3+ years and an oft-injured Gronk; other than that, he's had to rely on guys like Troy Brown, Deion Branch, David Givens, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, etc.

With LESS?? Lol. Define “less”. All I know is that the Patriots, year in and year out have the best OL in the nfl...Brady never, ever gets touched....took him until last night, on his 100th dropback, to be sacked for the first time in the playoffs this year, and even on that play he had 5-6 seconds, it was a coverage sack.

Additionally, notice that no matter what “scrubs” he supposedly has at WR, that they’re constantly running wide open across the middle of the field and in the flat......CONSTANTLY. Been that way since he took over in the early 2000s, no matter who he was throwing to.

Gronk is a first ballot HOF TE, perhaps the greatest TE in nfl history.

Their defense, like so many, many times before, won the game last night since mighty Brady led his team to all 1 red zone play and 13 measley points.

The Patriots are the best representative in the history of professional sports of “team” and system. A bunch of supposed nobodies that play lights out together, in unison, especially in big games.

The secret to the Pats success is clearly Bill Belichick, who could’ve won 6 or even more SB titles with any number of other QBs not named Tom Brady. Brady is the beneficiary of playing in the GREATEST system in NFL history....and he’s the ultimate system QB.

Im not arguing this subject, but there is no doubt whatsoever about the bold being true. Lol.

Yuck. Just the thought of Brady in orange and white makes me sick. Peyton actually considered Michigan and had he gone there Brady would not have gone to Michigan. I don’t think Brady would have been on Tennessee’s radar at the time. Brandon stewart would have been the starter.

Correct. If last night wasn’t evidence of this I don’t know what is.

You don't watch very closely. Brady got mauled in both Super Bowls that they lost to the Giants, and the Pats still would have won in 2007 were it not for blatant corruption with the playclock on the Giants' final drive of the game.

The Rams had two 1200-yard receivers on the field last night (Woods and Cooks). The Patriots' best receiver had 850 yards for the season, though he likely would've had 1200 without the suspension; the most receiving yards any other player had for the Pats this year was 751, and that was a running back, James White. The Pats' second-best wide receiver on the field last night had 532 yards for the season (Hogan). Gronkowski had 682 for the season. But don't let facts get in the way of your narrative.

No less than Steve Young said a couple years ago, when asked who he would choose as the greatest QB in history, that for him it had to be Brady because...wait for it...Brady had done less with more than any other quarterback. But I'm sure you know far more about the game than Steve Young.

This all day long. Where have you been? This is what most of us have been trying to say. Belichek is the goat. Not Brady.

Steve young was a system qb just like brady only more athletic.

I never have understood the value of "if we changed every possible variable that actually occurred, there'd be a different outcome." debates.

Tom Brady will always have the stigma of being a cheat. If Peyton Manning would of had that 2015 Bronco defense about 5 years earlier he would of likely had 5 rings to finish up his career.

Would Tom Brady won as much if he came in the league in 1990 instead of 2000? Nope.

If Tom Brady came into the league in 1990 he would have only lasted a few years because you could tackle the qb then.

Peyton Manning did choke in the post season. My evaluation of Brady has nothing to do with Peyton or the vols. All of the guys listed above had a better skillset than Brady.

I don't give a rat's rear about pro football but find it really funny people splitting hairs saying Brady is no good and isn't GOAT. The leader of a team with 6 championship rings isn't GOAT? So it's really not about championships? Ok... Even Drudge had a headline about GOAT. I think most rational people would agree with that.
