Will we be able to run on Bama ?

Yes. I don’t think we are likely to beat Bama at their house after embarrassing them last ye at, but we should give them everything and then some.

They aren’t as good defensively up front as A&M (nobody is though we are a lot closer than I thought).

Bama is beatable, but I’m not going to be overly disappointed in our team if we don’t pull it off.

No doubt Bama will load the box. So the offense must make them pay and make them play coverage, only then will we be able to pound them on the ground. And the most important aspect is to not let the crowd get us behind the chains and forcing us to run on 3rd and long like yesterday because the passing game is not working

It's a legit debate who has the better defense between A&M, Georgia, and Bama right now. They are all very good. But if we can run on A&M, I think we should be able to run on Bama.

My much bigger concern is our passing game, which looked horrid this week, and that was in Knoxville. Gotta wonder if Saban goes all-out on stopping the run and dares Milton to beat him. That's a strategy that can certainly backfire, but thus far, Milton has proven that he can consistently hit downfield receivers.

If we had any confidence or semblance of a passing game we could beat Bama, because frankly they don't frighten me. Not sure we will be able to overcome this deficiency unfortunately on the road and it doesn't appear that the coaches have a clue what to do with Milton. Needless to say, Bama is going to load the box, press our WRs and dare Milton to beat them throwing the ball. Up to our coaches to figure out how to maintain some sort of balance offensively. Pressure will be on Bama however as they will be favorites and we get to play as the underdog, which could help with our approach to the game.

I'm pretty sure that's been every team on the schedule strategy to make Milton beat them. It's easier said than done because you can press on the outside but u can't load the box. That's the beauty of our scheme. There are only 11 guys on the field and 4 of them will be outside the numbers because of our splits. So just from a numbers standpoint the only way you can put 7 in the box is if you go zero coverage with no Safety. Nobody is going to do that because a 3 yard slant goes for 80 off 1 missed tackle or bad position. Bama gotta stop the run with 6 just like A&M had to do. Fla did it but they also had a 450lb DT against our backup Center.

If Joe Milton can hit our receivers we will win . Both teams are consistently inconsistent. Flip a coin.
At this point in the season I can care less about Joe hitting the receivers. I have seen too many passes hit the receivers right in the hands that were dropped to see that the coaching staff, or Joe, might come up with a productive passing game. Our receivers were supposed to be the top group on this team this year. Instead, they are a liability. If I were a coach, I would sit Keyton the rest of they year and tell him we will see just how he fits in next year.

I do think we can run and I honestly wish we'd run Joe more because he looks good when he has run with conviction. It is unfair to ask Joe to come anywhere close passing wise to what we did last year. Forget the Hendon comparisons just look at the talent we've lost at wr. We need to lean into our strengths especially on the road.

We can run all over bama but they will stack the box and make Joe throw.

If he can hit anyone and they can catch it we win.

If the passing game goes like most of the year we do not win.

I think Saban will go all out to stop the run, if we win we will have to have a balanced attack.

I agree and as hard as Ive been on Milton, our wr need to get open. Playcalling needs to be better. No creativity this year. Play action should work good with this run game, along with some quick slants and mesh type plays to get Joe going. Joe usually has time, but he seems to stare down his guys a lot.

Will definitely need more versatility against Bama.
