Last line I saw was Bama -12.5, I don't gamble but "homer" feelings aside, I like the Vols at 12 and a hook.

Never underestimate Bama Dline. But thier Oline is one of the worse Saban Olines.
Bama has a pretty good offense somehow. Don't let the narrative around Milroe distract you. We gotta get more points this week. And we need containment on the Qb

Milroe will be a great QB in a year are two. He can make plays but is inconsistent. He went something like 0-9 during a period against Arkansas. We will shut Bama's run game down just like A&M did and chase Milroe around all night. I don't think Bama can get more than 24 points on us. Our problem is our offense. I can't believe I am typing that. We have a chance to put up 200+ yards rushing on Bama if we use Milton more in the run game. But to have a chance to win with pretty much just our run game we have to play REALLY clean football. 15 yard penalties on OL's for a facemask won't cut it. If I were putting together the Vols attack this week I would get Milton on the edge early and often, run the play side corner off with go routes and drag the TE underneath with the slot running behind that to occupy the safety. Option the LB by making him choose to cover the TE or close on Milton as he comes to LOS. Joe can make that throw, that was our only TD pass Saturday. Someone has to hook the play side DE, seal the MLB and the backside end to let the play develop but if executed it should get us 10-12 yards a try. And if the corner doesn't bite on the go route Joe's arm is strong enough to get it to our WR for a big gain. This should open up the inside run game too, as Bama's DE's won't be as likely to crash the tailback if they know Joe may get the corner on them. We've probably been reluctant to expose Joe like that because he will take some hits but at this point the run game is really all we got.

We will. There may be lots of clouds of dust in this one, but I am glad that the days of 6-3 battles are long gone.

Yes. Joe goes for 100 yds passing and 50 on the ground. We get another 170 from the RBs. Turnovers and penalties will determine the game. I hope Hadden smothers coward Burton all night long

If Tennessee can run for 200 yards against the front seven of Coach Steele, we will win this game.

Defense has to have constant pressure on Milroe and sack him at least 4 times.

A splash play by the special teams unit is also key to winning this game.

If I’m Alabama I play man and stuff the line of scrimmage. If I’m their DBs I don’t worry about getting burned on the double moves or wheel routes. Protect the mid levels and underneath because Milton’s chance of hitting you deep is almost non existent. So what if he hits 1 or 2, he won’t to do it over and over.

I think we’ll rush for about a 100 or so but Joe will have to connect on some big time throws in stride to give us an edge.

Hell, put DSamp with Wright or small in the backfield and run some triple option type stuff in hurry up. Bama would be so off rhythm it would be funny. See the option Milton ran against AM?

If our O line is healthy, they should be able to perform at a very high level again. Alabama isnt that much better than A&M

Saban will 100% Load the box and play man to man. I think he knows Milton cannot beat him with his arm. Thats the best game plan.

They were but I expect it was either a trap game or they pulled a Georgia and went lower gear vs a doormat opponent or a bit of both. If the line is -12.5 and you feel Bama is overrated then bet UT hard. You won’t see many lines better than that the rest of the season.

You guys act like Bama is the Big Bad Wolf. They barely beat the Hogs at home. We are coming for Milroe!! Alabama has given up the most sacks in the SEC. If we don’t get shell shocked like at Florida Saban will snatch himself bald by the end of the 4th quarter.
Joe is a below average game manager. We all know what we have. What Heupel has done is elevate the special teams, defense, and running game. Saban has been game planning for this game since the clock hit 0 last year. We might get our butt whipped but I ain’t scared of Bama.

We hung >200 yards on TA&M and their D prior to us had not allowed > 100:yards rushing. We will do the same to Bama is my prediction. I think the key will be can we put just enough (or better hopefully) of a passing game on the field to allow our running game to work? I think we can. Time will tell.

Everyone thinking Bama's going to beat us 30-something to 10 is insane, mainly because it means Bama will have to put up that many points and there's no evidence they can against anybody with a half a pulse.

our defense was lights out against the aggies, but they didnt have a qb that could run. we're going to have to have somebody be milroe's shadow. we cannot let him get lose.

The 2 defenses are surprisingly statistical mirror images of each other. This game will be decided by penalties and turn overs. Pressure Milroe 60 minutes and hope for some Pocket Presents. Keep Joe handing off and short screens and hope our D can score.
