an elite crowd/atmosphere at TBA? Not an insult to the people who come out at all or anything just a question. Seems like we only have great crowds for the big games such as UCONN, UF, UK, Vandy. Even when BP was here we would have those nights where it looked like Knoxville had gone on vacation.

Are we just too big of a football school to sell out TBA every night? Do we simply have too many seats available to sell out consistently? What does everyone think it will take for us to do this, or are we set in our ways/unable to get excited about bball every night?

Just thought I'd ask. One would think with our facilities/young talent more than 17k people a night would come and watch the games.

First of all, we are 5th in the nation in attendance, so can't complain too much.

A lot of it has to do with middle of the week, later tip off's, and not starting the season out well didn't help either. Just remember, winning cures all. We keep up this work and Martin will have these guys playing in front of bigger crowds.

Fifth in the nation in attendance speaks volumes. If the arena only sat 15,000, there would be sell-outs consistently.

This. TBA was overbuilt from the beginning. The addition of the suites didn't help either, nor did the lifetime passes for the original donors in the 100 levels...

We have the right size gym and it seems CCm is doing what needs to be done to fill it. If this keeps up it may be to small. GBO

Those lifetime passes secured midcourt seats in the 19th row for my dad, so I can't complain about that one, but the point is valid. The blue hairs that come to read the paper, take a nap, people-watch, etc. need to give em up.

I disagree. TBA wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the blue hairs.

I don't advocate them giving them up, they earned those passes. But, they shouldn't have been given out in the first place. Who gives out prime seats 'for life' to build an Arena?

The majority still come and sit on their hands and ask people cheering to quiet down and take a seat. Also, for those who hold the tickets and stay home and let the seats go unused, give em up.

Games were made for attending and cheering on your team. Those who made TBA possible through contributions, we applaud your financial loyalty, but please, either come to cheer, or give up the seats.

The biggest problem is unless your down low, it's much better on TV. That's some pretty good bucks to watch ants up high. Just my 2 cents worth.

According to Wes Rucker, journalists visiting TBA for games we have against Big East (Pitt, UConn), Big12 (Kansas), etc. have said that it is one of the Top5 places in the nation to watch a game given the atmosphere.

I love TB, hope they remodel the outside though.

The outside apprence is the only thing keeping TBA from being the nicest college basketball arena in the nation.

The arena upgrades have certainly made it a top-notch venue. People keep fussing about the crowds, but tonight's turnout wasn't shabby for a mid-week matchup against a mediocre West team. Check the national attendance averages before snapping judgments.

That mediocre west team has a great coach, and won 17 straight at home. They aren't scrubs.
