Win and in

That is the scenario that scares me. Some have said an 11-2 LSU jumps us, how when we dominated them at their place. I think you can make an argument that if we win out we are in, right now we have beaten 2 top 10 teams, has anyone else?

An A&M win this week would at least clarify the SEC part of the equation. As ridiculous as it seems, I could very well see them taking an 11-2 SEC champ that just beat Georgia as the second SEC team.

If Utah wins this weekend, USC won’t even play for their conference championship…. So there’s that piece too.

Just simply not true. We need other things to happen. If USC is a one loss PAC 12 Champ and TCU remains unbeaten, we will absolutely not make it in.

If Utah wins this weekend, USC won’t even play in the conference championship game. Utah has the head to head tie breaker.

You do realize that the P12 doesn’t have divisions anymore right? If SC wins this weekend they’re in the title game.

I am just looking at who they have ahead of them.........checking my notes.......yup, its trash, trash is what they have left to play. Pretty much the same with USC, UCLA might be the only real test for them remaining. I think TCU is a whole lot of not good and USC is about on the same level. I think we are better than every other team in the country other than georgia, but that's not who is going to be selected necessarily for the playoff. We need a 12 team playoff to better settle this stuff on the field.

I don't agree on the 12 team playoff, which would just be a bunch of blowouts to get to the four teams everyone knows are the best four, even those who won't admit it - Georgia, UT, Ohio State, and Michigan. Just put those four in and be done with it.

Yes, but dont they both have one conference loss but Utah beat USC?
Yeah, but if Utah wins at Oregon this week, then Utah and SC would be the only 1-loss teams in the P12 and would meet in the title game. If Utah loses, then they’d have 2 losses and be behind SC.

Yeah, but at least you get more football and you remove any doubt

Stupid is a harsh word for describing someone who disagrees with you. What should happen and what does happen are totally different at times. The bias people have demonstrated tells us that we never know for sure what will happen until it happens.
I agree with you. It’s not as simple as who the best teams are by some wide consensus. It’s more like a beauty contest. Some judges prefer blondes, others brunettes. Politics and subjectivity can skew the selection process.

Tennessee needs Georgia to beat LSU. If LSU beats Georgia, both those teams are in and Tennessee is out. If Georgia beats LSU, then Tennessee is in as long as they win out.

Not so sure..... A victory over GA could buy them out of one loss but then we still have the head to head beat down by 27 on their home field and I think a stronger SOS.

Think about it, 3 SEC teams with one loss each with a victory over one of the others We would be the only one with a victory on the other teams home field. All pretty convoluted.

Chris Lowe knows his stuff. He just said Tennessee has a 75 percent chance to make the playoffs. Said he don’t think USC would jump Tennessee and the loser of Ohio state vs Michigan can’t hang their hat on a good win

And it only gets worse

12 a coming

I remember seemed like every bowl game meant something back in the day. I’m down for change but really ho many times did the BCS get it wrong? Maybe once? How many times has this 4 team playoff gotten it wrong? Again maybe once.

Even back before the BCS it was pretty clear most every year. Not every time but most times.

This. This 12-team playoff will alter the postseason bowl landscape and probably put several of these bowls out of business.
