Winners and losers of NSD

UF had 13EEs and 3 open spots heading into NSD. Went 1 for 3(Flipped #2 WR..missed on Fulton and Simpson) . Dropped two because of grades(Robinson and Nelson) Manuel flipped. Class was already set before today.

Erick Fowler flipping to Texas was a huge blow to LSU at their biggest position of need. And we probably could have used another OT like Williams or Lashley. I am happy with the way the Trayvon Mullen/Kristian Fulton situation worked out. Fulton's dad said he would have committed to UF if Mullen had chosen LSU, so Mullen going to Clemson and leaving Florida holding the bag is fine by me.

We'll get last laugh tho. Mac coming to take Raymond.

Congrats to canesinsight.com for winning the cyber cesspool crown. Sorest losers in CFB-- possibly all sports-- U earned it, Canes.

It's really hard to square the actual comments on that board with their apparent belief that they are somehow an elite academic and/or athletic institution. It looks like a weird mishmash of angry middle age people and millennial "RedPill Alpha Males." So, you know... delusional people with anger/disenfranchisement issues and high opinions of themselves.

LSU did well in the trenches, though, especially D line.

What on Earth is going on with Georgia Tech's recruiting?

Option and calculus. Princeton Review named it as the school with the most miserable freshman year experience because they throw so much at you.

The math requirements are ridiculous.

And their football players can't just pretend to take math like everyone else? Or just learn to math like Darwin Walker? Good grief.

Georgia had only six out-of-state recruits. Miami fans should be realizing by now that Richt wasn't a great recruiter he just coached at a great school for recruiting.

At the end of the day, Richt was a lazy coach.

He could coach a 5* kid into more 2* performances than anyone in the SEC. Never hired a special teams coach his whole tenure at UGA, seemed like more years than not, produced one of the most heavily penalized teams in the SEC. Correctomundo, great geographic location for recruiting meant a lot of kids just fell in his lap year in and year out.

Fully expect us to end up one point behind Florida.

It is what we we.

Once dated a girl who's roommate was a hottie GTech grad. I asked her point blank one night what it was like being a good looking girl on the GT campus.

Her response: "The odds were good, but the goods were odd."

So funny.

Big Time Winner: UAB

With a class of 43 guys, several yet to sign, they recruited 38 Juco players and checked in with the #63 class, which may or may not be representative
of the quality of the overall class. An amazing feat. Welcome back Blazers.

Georgia and Kirby did better than I expected.

Georgia missed out on a ton of in-state talent and a majority of their commits were under Richt; Derrick Brown, Tre Lamar, Antonneus Clayton, Nigel Warrior, Antwuan Jackson, Marquez Callaway, Kyle Davis, and EJ Price just to name a few left the state.

The DL haul is sick, no question. But the depth chart at LB is similar to how Dooley left the OL at Tennessee; we don't even have bodies and the only MLB is a senior. LSU couldn't afford any misses at ILB this recruiting cycle. Now that position is going to be a huge problem in 2017 and possibly 2018.

Dylan Moses following in the footsteps of Cam Robinson doesn't improve the outlook either. Best LB prospect LA has produced in almost 20 years and he's going to be a Gump. Go figure.

Iowa never recruits well and they were a product of an easy schedule but according to 247, they finished 47th with 25 3* recruits. Not a single 4* for the only other team besides Clemson to go 12-0 during the regular season. Kirk Ferentz... pretty sad that 4 more million dollars a year couldn't buy a single 4* recruit on paper.

So why were Florida's coaches lying to Fulton all week and telling him Raymond was going to leave his new extension/raise at LSU for Florida?

Somehow Texas went from #32 at the beginning of the day (according to ESPN) to #10. I'd say that is a "winner" even though they still fly the wrong color of orange.

I would say the 3 big winners were Ole Miss, Texas and Auburn. I was not expecting Auburn and Texas to have such a big day with their head coaches being on the hot seat. In my opinion 3 big losers were Notre Dame, Texas A&M and TCU. Could probably throw Oklahoma in as a loser too being that they also didn't have a good recruiting class last year.
