Winners and losers of NSD

OU did get a 5* LB out of fresno cali tonight^^^ I am guessing this was written before the commitment

Gators Lost Nate Craig-Meyers to Auburn and Shavar Manuel to FSU.

Gotta smart.

Lost the Fulton kid from Louisiana too. Tyrie Cleveland is one I was pulling for them to lose out on as well. But they did reel him in. Still a good class, just not a great one.

Never had NCM to start with. He committed to Aub.Later decommitted and named UF, FSU and UNC his leaders at different points. Only to recommit to Aub.Flipped a better prospect in Cleveland.

Manuel hurts but state is loaded with DTs next cycle.

They [Mizzou] were fighting Candy hard the most 2 stars

But if you listen to their fans, that was by design because at Mizzou they get "coached up."

I.e., no other schools coach up their players - that's why all the other SEC schools recruit 4 stars and above. :hi:

No offense but I read some florida boards among other teams boards regarding their signing day and you have some realistic fans questioning some things on some misses but the majority sound like this place during the Dooley era. Excuses. Florida signed 4 of the top players in the state while FSU signed 9 or 10 I believe. After losing the roided Grier and now all of muschamps defensive players it will be interesting to see where the program goes. I don't think CJM has proven anything yet especially with the finish to the year and now a underwhelming recruiting class with a year under his belt

yeah, I saw that. Wonder how their 2 and 3 stars are going to fair against our 3, 4, and 5 stars? Especially since that is about how they've been recruiting the last 5 years or more!

Well we should curb stomp them. If they can shut down the run it will be closer than we expect. If not a blow out. I am not really concerned about our defense anymore. That problem was fixed with Shoop. They have athletes and Fuentes can coach. But it SHOULD be no contest.

But not a way to impress VT supporters. They should have done much better than they did.

Tennessee if you go by star average has a damn fine class, just barely behind LSU in that category. We're about 12th going by that on Rivals and 12th on Rivals just behind Michigan and Texas who both had monster classes.

You've got a few kids in this class who are just highly underrated like Tatum who was the best OT in Florida and according to some the staff think they landed the OT with the most potential in the southeast; not to mention the vial Gators wanted this kid badly. Another underrated prospect is CFA who just produced video game numbers versus Florida competition and according the Rivals assessment didn't get a bump because of questions about his speed. (I guess running away from DBs that run 4.4 forties makes his speed questionable.) Brooks is another that has potential to be one of the best TE gets in the nation but questions about his injuries make him a risk; still given the training staff and medical here is IMO some of the best in the country I feel like this will work out for us. Williams is the last one who is a total question mark; amazing speed which is the thing you really just cannot coach. He likely should have been a three star guy; Miami actually was chapped about him because he would have given them the best deep threat on their team.

He proved he could go undefeated in SECE and coach up the talent Muschamp couldn't.

Clearly you giving too much attention to msg boards chatter because the numbers are misleading.

Signed Top rated juco RB and #1 RB in Bama ( offers from both UA and Aub) bc RB talent in Fla was down. Advantage OOS

Went oos to land 5* DE and #2 WR. Both rated higher than FSU in state guys. Advantage OOS.

OL was down instate ( Top OL was a OC- FSU landed. Top OT-Vol) Wasnt a big need with 14 OL on scholarship. Took two developmental guys and a UA All American. Swung for elite OOS guys like Dickerson, JWilliams and Simpson. Missed but again OOS talent was better than instate. Had two juco OL committed neither could qualify bc of SEC math thing.

LB was down as well. FSU signed 3.. All OOS.

DB UF signed #1 instate. Had Fulton higher than Mullen or Becker. Unfortunately UF missed you get the point. 2-4 DBs all signed OOS.

DT FSU signed #1&5 .#2&3 signed OOS.

Also most of the top players were at STA or IMG. Many of them are from OOS originally.

This may help you out some.

Their board was one if the more entertaining I came across today. They have already turned against Fuente.

Virginia Tech The Tunnel

This comment on the thread, from vtfan 90, regarding Latrell Williams flipping from the U to us was my favorite:

Tennessee has the talent and skill to woodshed us in Bristol.. FU better have this team ready to roll or we will get embarrassed.

These were some more of my favorites

This was from Va. Tech fan OrangeandMaroon in regards to another Va. Tech fan stating that Tenn sucks.

Will you still say that when you're sitting a mile away from the stadium in a neckcar stadium and UT is beating us 28-3 at halftime this coming season?

And this from Red Hokie

Jalen Hurd will run wild against our LBs

Seems like a majority of Hokie fans do not feel very confident in there chances at the Battle of Bristol.

Damn...they are calling him FU? He may be regretting this move now. Plus Foster has his own group of supporters.

He just needs time. Kinda like Butch in his first class, when he had a month to salvage a good class. Fuente is a good coach and recruits players that fit his system (Ex: Paxton Lynch, who was like the 40+ rated Pro Style QB and a 2-star). The question is whether Hokie fans will give him time to recruit a few classes and develop those players.

Yep, 15 out of the Top 25 players left the state.

Didn't help that Kirby had less than a month on the job. I'm happy that he did as well as he did given that amount of time. Keeping Eason and Nauta were huge, imho. Four *****s is big for UGA.

Eason might as well be a 3 star, has bust written all over him.

It was an odd year instate.

Why are you using the worst ranking service?

Regardless of the reasons, Mac had 10 wins and a huge recruiting base. Florida State and Clemson killed it in Florida recruiting.

It should be unacceptable for any Florida fan to accept the class ranking this year. You are the only Florida fan I have heard defending it.

A 3.36 star rating and only 10 of 25 recruits rated 4 star or better at Florida is unacceptable. Of course, I hope your administration, coaches and fans are ok with it. Muschamp recruited better and these are back to back classes of which I don't ever believe I've seen at Florida since recruiting sites began.
