Wish Haslam would sell Browns and buy some Vols

This is always misleading because that includes the shares they own in companies. You can't just take out the shares without causing issues with the company. He pulled a bunch of money from shares out of Nike, it could sink Nike. People make the mistake of thinking the wealthy people in our nation are like Scrooge McDuck and have a piggy bank full of cash.
How do you know how much liquid cash he has?

Why do people keep saying this? Can’t wait to repeat history where the Haslams act like petty kings in Orange by making crappy decisions and tanking the program. The Haslam family has the black touch of death when it comes to sports teams.

They messed up the Vols back in the day. They have destroyed the Browns, and are about to do the same to the Preds. KEEP THEM OUT OF KNOXVILLE.
Completely agree. I don’t want them anywhere near UT.

You don’t get Haslam money without giving them at least some degree of decision making authority. Not how they roll.

Danny White has been able to do that to a degree. We got the Pilot deal. Even though they sold out a lot of their shares of Pilot, I am sure the Haslams were pivotal in making that happen.

We got plenty of money, top notch facilities and best in class fan following. JH just posted the best three-year win total (30), since 1998-2000. I think we're fine, and moving in the right direction.

It cracks me up how some of us have amnesia when it comes to this program. How quickly we forget that the Haslams were the puppet masters that drove this program straight into the ground. The fanbase was literally torn in half while we spent 15 years aimlessly wandering through the desert while simultaneously trying to get rid of their good ol boy system and bring in new blood.

Yeah lets go back to the desert!

The Wealthy don’t have to sell shares of stock to raise cash. The borrow against their holdings and write off the interest.

My memory may be failing in my old age. Wasn’t Haslam behind the debacle with John Currie trying to hire Schiano? I always thought Haslam might have gotten his nose out of joint when his influence didn’t pan out with either of those hires.

With all the money he’d make selling the Browns, he could then be our big Sugar Daddy (kind of like Knight is at Oregon).
We could call him our pseudo General Manager and he’d love to take the credit of “leading” the Vols to having an elite roster capable of winning national titles.
College football is now all about having the deepest pockets to buy the best roster. We need someone who is capable and willing to do that. Not sure I know of anyone else other than Haslam that fits that description.
How did this not get more likes? The 50k people donating $50 here and there with spyre is not moving the needle enough.

He was also a big supporter of Hamilton and, in a lot of ways, Hamilton was the main catalyst that caused the 10-15 year slump.
