With the Vols moving up to first team out, will the committee have to show their work?

Just looked over Bama's schedule and they don't have any good wins. "Body of work" argument fails.

"Close losses" argument would be stronger if they didn't also have very close wins on their record.

I don't think the committee wants to set precedent on "loss of a key player". Even if they did, we mitigated that argument with the destruction of Vandy.

We have the same record. We have much better wins. We have the stronger SOS. One of our losses was to #1 who just won by 20 over the team that beat Bama. Honestly I think OSU should be ahead of Bama.

How will the committee show their work if they leave Bama over the Vols? Or will they choose stilence?

USC falls to 6th, UT stays at 7

Their wins are much better than Ohio State's. They have better wins than Alabama too. Their schedule isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

Their best win... 3 loss KSU, who they just lost to on a neutral field.

Saban said with a straight face that their last 3 wins should get them in. Look up their last 3 wins. Their resume is bad, Bryce Young is the draw for them

Clobbered,,, that word does not mean what you think it does.

17-10
I mistakenly said the same thing earlier, b/c I didn't think that game seemed close at the end. I totally forgot it was a 7 point game. That Texas offense was bad that night.

Alabama's best win is vs a 4 loss Texas team, that TCU also beat. Ohio State's is vs a Penn State team that has 0 wins of note and got blown off the map vs the good teams they played, they are 10-2 by default. Next is a 4 loss Notre Dame team that lost to Marshall and a terrible Stanford team.

At worst Kansas State is = to Penn State, but are a major conference champion. Texas is = to Notte Dame at best. But TCU played several more decent teams and Ohio State didn't.

Can someone pull the BCS ranking system after this weekend to show where Tennessee lands after all metrics are accounted for ?

Bama has no rational argument for being ahead of TCU or us. I'll be shocked if TCU drops at all.
according to Nick, their last 3 wins are the reason they should get in. 2 of those wins over losing teams, the 3rd over a mediocre Ole Miss team. So impressive.

Heck I seen some playoff ranking prediction somewhere that had Tennessee going to 9th I think. USC going to 8th and Utah going to 7th

Something like that……that was a good one.

Had Tennessee and P-ST getting pushed back like 2 spots each

The rankings disagree. They’re like 5-1 against top 25 teams. 1-1 vs current top 10.

Committee should look at common opponent and see that Alabama only beat Texas because Ewers got hurt, while TCU controlled Texas and dominated on defense despite Texas having a healthy Ewers.
They also only beat Texas because the refs made up some garbage call to avoid calling the safety on Bryce Young. Was textbook intentional grounding in end zone.

If it's going to be that way, SEC needs to schedule fewer conference games and play all cupcakes OOC.

SOS has to be rewarded, or logically, teams will stop scheduling those games.
I fully agree, landscape and the game within the game is changing. Time to change with it

Yep and I doubt the committee wants to match OSU and MI again in the first round. GA-OSU and MI-TCU in the semis.

IMO, Tcu is the weakest team of the top 4. I have no idea who will be number 3 and 4 though, it could be, Ohio St, and TCU, or it could be Ohio State and Bama, however, if they went by the criteria they say they go by we should be in, but I don't think that will happen.

Who do you think would win if TCU played Bama?
no clue, I'd think Bama, though. That's not how it works though thankfully. It's about who you beat, and TCU has the edge there and didn't lose to a trash team like LSU. Enough said. Hypotheticals shouldn't be part of the formula.

In all honesty I would have thought Bama wouldn’t have needed to win at the end VS Texas by 1

Also the same vs A&M but by 4

I would have “thought” Bama would have beaten LSU.

I would think Bama beats Mississippi comfortably……but that didn’t happen.

Non of it did.

what “we think” about Bama just isn’t true this year.

If they were to put Alabama or Tennessee in, they'll be on full blast from the fans of the team that's left out. If they keep TCU in atleast the bama and tennessee fans won't be complaining as much. It's a lose-lose for the committee if they were to put in either tennessee or bama.

Edit sorry cascade didn't mean to quote you.
