WNBA discussion thread?

Than Nurse? Absolutely. Than Carter? I'd have to agree to disagree on that one. IMO AA hasn't done much since her last all star a few years ago.
Atkins scores about the same amount of points, a better 3pt shooter and a 5 time all defensive player (Only player in history to be named all defensive team 1st 5 seasons) 2 time AllStar as well as an Olympian. Those are my reason why she’s a better overall, can u explain why u think Carter is a better overall player?

Just think CC's trajectory is up while AA's best yrs are behind her. We'll see.

Huh? AA graduated high school in 2014. CC did so in 2017.
AA last all star was in 2022. Just feel like she's fallen off while CC was just getting established after a few yrs of bouncing around. I thought CC was outstanding last yr and continuing to improve. But of course her issues have deemed her not worth it.

But hey, as a Sparks fan, I'm happy the Sky's backcourt will be Sloot, Nurse, and AA bc IMO that's just brutal af.

BTW Dark Ph, Angel had a legit good game last night. She's def inspired and her motor is off the charts. Don't know how much is translateable but she's having fun and as always, raising that public profile. Rose has moved to second place.

Rickea also finally had a really good, really high motor game and the Mist actually won easily! RJ had an espec good game on D w 3 swats, including a monster one on her godsister Laney Hamilton. Also had 8 reb, would have had a double double but didn't play in the 4th due to the Mist being so far ahead.

Mist actually still has an outside chance to make the playoffs. If they do it will be at the expense of Rae's vinyl team.

I guess we’ll see if Carter will ever be an AllStar, do u count the defensive end at all or u jist prioritzd a volume shooter? Ok we’ll see who produces better this upcoming season.

Doubt seriously CC ever makes all star. At this point she'll be lucky to make a roster. Last I saw only desparate teams like the Sun and Valkys were even considering her. Storm was also mentioned and while it would be entertaining, only a team out of its mind would want CC and Diggins Smith in the same state, much less the same backcourt.

Still think her speed and moves to the basket made her special last yr. No one could guard her. If she was able to continue that path she'd be great this season. Don't think her D was that bad, esp when her want to was right. Unfortunately, the long time, persistent psychological/sociological disturbances makes it all an academic argument.

I’ll tell ya one thing, women’s basketball players sure didn’t look like that when I was young. I think the pantaloons of my day really cramped their style.

And she still can't hit a shot. Played some really good D and had some excellent passes last night. But even layups continue to be a challenge. Doesn't get that many shots cuz Stewie going to fire every time she gets the ball.

Rae has had a couple of really good games lately but Spoon won't play her much and she also struggles to pry the ball away fm Rhyne and Arike to get a shot. Announcers said Rae is often mentioned by GMs as a player who really raised their stock here.

Rickea and Rae have both been among the most fit players in this demanding fomat and have played in every game whch has been rare. Both will go into camp in a month in top physical shape.

Their teams go into their last reg season games Monday tied for the last playoff spot. Unrivaled has overall been great for both of them. But Rickea has a month to find her shot.

the Fevers have signed their "ENFORCER" our board favorite who graduated from Missouri, Ms. Cunningham. So many comments over her career there. In her interview she commented that she believed in protecting her teammates. Good of bad she will respond to a player who commits a flagrant foul on Clark. (smile)

With the addition of Bonner, Howard, and Kelsey Mitchell back, I don't see Sophie getting enough playing time to protect anyone,

Several vets who went to new teams will be riding the pine towards retirement

Old school "Goons" don't need a lot of playing time. You put em in. They make 3 hard fouls in 75 seconds and you take em out. But the opponent knows that the "Goon" has 3 more hard fouls to give (if needed). All Clark has to say to the coach is "send in the Goon!"

This will be a great transition role for Cunningham before embarking on her post-WNBA career in the WWE.

Seriously, Sophie could have a highly successful career in the WWE. She'd just need to get on some roids for a few months first, but then she'd be golden.

total trivia: Cincinnati Royals, NBA , were in Cincinnati during my high school career. I was in high school and wrote the sports stories for the school paper. (1959)I had a Press pass to the NBA games and actually was able to be on the sidelines. Boston Celtics - I got to watch Bob Cousy, Sam Jones and Bill Russell. the reason for the story they had their Enforcer - Losscutoff and he performed as Madtownvol just described.
