Wouldn’t mind KP being kea’s pg
And so it is. Traded away their #2 pick! Plum wanted out of Vegas, Jewell Loyd wanted out of Seatlle and away from SDS, and Li Yueru. wanted out of LA. Really good post, but saw the writing on the wall with Cam and Azura Stevens in front of her. She'll do well in Seattle backing up Ezi Megbegor. That's probably bad news for LVFL Mercedes Russell though.

Totaly don't know how Jewel Loyd fits in at Vegas but the worse the better lol. Don't think she'll be the help Aja Wilson needs.

I didn't love this when I first heard it. Not crazy about KP and I wanted the Sparks to go young. Olivia Miles is playing so well. OTOH, some see this as a win now move for the Sparks. Probably means their injured PG Julie Allemande from Belguim is coming back and along w Plum that's a pretty seasoned backcourt. Then Rickea, Cam, Hamby, Azuri, and Rae make a really solid core. Maybe even playoff worthy.

Hamby already posted a happy dance over this, apparently she enjyed playing w KP in Vegas. I'd say Kia Nurse is not quite as happy and is packing up. KP's a big upgrade there. They probably keep one of Zia Cooke or Ari McDonald, possibly Odyessy Sims for back up.

Bet the Storm uses that #2 on Olivia Miles and let her learn under fellow Irish SDS.

Someone is clearly happy to have KP around. Hamby's the team leader, this is huge. I think they see it as win now.

KP probably looking forward to the green light fm 3 under Lynne Roberts. She's going fm super lux facilities to practicing at a jr college. But LA is supposed to be starting on a facility this yr.

Plus, if you're a young person with a charismatic personality and do well with media, LA is a good place to be. Plum will likely enjoy it there.

This trade is definitely a win-now move. KP fills two gaps-- PG and outside shooting threat. That should make RJ's life better and if Cam Brink comes back fully recovered from her ACL, Sparks should be a team that can make a little bit of noise.

It seems like Vegas and Seattle might have some tougher times in the West.

I hope Cameron Brink comes back good as new, but she'll be a rookie experience-wise. An elevated rookie since she'll understand life in the league and will have learned a lot by watching, but court-wise, she'll need time to become a real pro player.

I'm really looking forward to seeing if there's good chemistry between Rickea and Kelsey. If it's as good as I hope, that tandem could do some serious scoring.

I'm a huge fan of Olivia Miles as well. There's not a team in the league that couldn't use a player like her, IMO.

I like Jewell Loyd and really hate it for her that another player appears to have come in and ruined the good thing she had going in Seattle. But I'm glad she peaced out 'cause by the end of last season you could see the joy of playing was gone for her. I have no feelings one way or another about Vegas except that I of course like Nikki Caldwell Vargas and want always for her to do well, but I really do hope Loyd can get her groove back.

Olivia and sds would work tho but aces need to find another pg to go behind chelsea

Wonder why Lloyd and Diggins-Smith didn't get along. Both playing their college ball at Notre Dame and all.
Loyd didn't leave ND on good terms. She had a falling out with her head coach Muffet McGraw and she stayed away from the program until Niele Ivey became the coach. Loyd didn't tell Muffet that she was declaring for the WNBA draft during her junior and Muffet was very upset about it. Diggins is very loyal to ND.

Plum having to fill in as PG last season when Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young were both out was a disaster for Vegas, her decision making in that role just isn't there. LA still needs a PG imo, and now they'd have to trade for one while attempting to keep that young core together. I know Sloot is in talks with Chicago, but LA would also be an immediate-usage role for her too. NY isn't going to want LA's garbage bench players though.

Seattle getting the #2 pick is such a lopsided win for them, I really wonder if/how this changes the draft.

IMO chronic fouling, not the knee, is the biggest challenge for Cam. But that's why they hung on to Azura Stevens who was apparently the original trade bait.

As far as Rickea and KP's chemistry, Rickea seems to really look up to Hamby and Hamby is over the moon happy about getting KP. Seems they were besties in Vegas, which may explain the Aces agreeing to let KP go. Hamby is enemy #1 for them, with her ongoing lawsuit against Hammond and the Aces.

Some anaylsts are saying this move, instead of drafting someone like KiKi, confirms the Sparks see Rickea as a long term top scoring option. Pretty sure she won't hate that lol. Seems the Sparks have no confidence in this draft beyond Paige and not much in Miles. But lots in Rickea, and as an added bonus, also in Rae. Rae has her best opportunity ever in the W this season,
I think sky more of a vocal person and Lloyd isn’t..this isn’t college might’ve meshed well in college just not in pros
.
Also, Loyd's Mom got heavily involved in the hostilities on social media making everything worse. Warning! Overinvolved parents who consider themselves "part of the team" are a major flashing red light.

Could be wrong, but I don't think the got KP to play point. They still have Julie Allemande, the Belgian pg who was out w injury last year. Believe KP will play her natural position which is SG. Rumor is the Sparks have promised state of the art facilities within a couple of years and KP has said she wants to stay there the rest of her career. She's from southern Cal.

I didn't realize Plum is just 30. This gives the Sparks a still youngish but experienced core for several yrs. Hamby is 31, Plum 30, Allemande and Stevens both 28, Rae 24, and Rickea and Cam 23. They need some more good bench depth and this roster already has people screaming "worse defense in history". But Lynne Roberts' plan is to outscore everyone anyway.

I was afraid of this.

Good chance soon we're down to Kellie's girls - Jordy, RIckea, and Rae as the only LVs in the W. Diamond and Izzy probably aren't far behind Mercedes as the Sky restructures itself.

I believe Mercedes still has some value as a backup somewhere, but Izzy and Diamond? Yeah, I agree. They've have had such terrible luck with injuries/illnesses that I'm not sure anyone would want to risk potentially wasting even a deep bench spot on either of those older players who can't be ready to go when needed.

One analysis for what is worth that suggest Plum may not be primary PG but will help out in that role. Also, having a shooting guard who can distribute adds some offensive options. I primarily look at the Sparks through the lens of RJ and Rae and it seems their situations have been improved by this trade.
