the ncaa doesn't care about any other "hats" a student athlete at an ncaa institution wears. at the end of the day they are a student athlete and if they violate the rules they are subject to ncaa penalty

Rucker is saying that New Amsterdam gives this room for free to frats to throw parties so more than likely they will be able to get out of it. But it makes me mad that you guys are hating on him so much. Swiperboy is the best team player we have. Go read his tweets or listen to some of his songs. The kid loves UT and would do anything to help the team even if it is to ride the pine.. Learn some things about these players before you go and bash them for things.

Bumping your post because some of these "fans" need to read it. A few times.

Yeah, the issue is not the rap, but the fact he received preferential treatment as a UT player. Sounds as if there is no question that he did. Thus, the NCAA violation. He will have to be declared ineligible, pay for the cost of the room and any recording cost and then be reinstated.

the coaches i work with would all but kill a kid for pulling a stunt like this.

#1 - you're ankle hurts too bad for you to play, yet it doesn't hurt badly enough that you can shoot a music video.

#2 - we just got beat on the road and all you were concerned with, apparently all weekend, was your "business" and you're video shoot when you got home

#3 - you did nothing on Saturday to contribute to your team, and then because of poor decision making, you did harm to it on Saturday night

Um, really? :eek:lol:

I dont know which is worse, the NCAA continuing to show how pathetically they ruin, I mean run, college athletics or the supposed UT fans that come on here bashing a player. He was a highly recruited player out of High school who has never panned out, so what, happens all the time, get over it and get off the kids case.

I don't know who, but somebody in our athletic department needs to take their head out of their ass and stop this crap from going on. The biggest waste of money ever is on anyone's salary in our athletic director's office from top to bottom.
Kiffin spent his entire tenure at UT privately saying the compliance office was staffed with imbeciles and incompetents. They almost seem to be going out of their way to prove him correct. The fact Woolridge even thought about doing this shows they are miserable failures at educating players on what they should and should not do.

I'm not sure how Renaldo wasn't in trouble before the season started. He did some things this past Summer that I probably should have been reviewed.

Renaldo Swiperboy Woolridge

Now thats funny. One of the biggest cheaters in college football over the last 5-10 years having issues with the compliance office, go figure. Could it be he didnt like being told hes a cheater, like Im sure he wasnt at USC?

Do you ever get tired of making crap up, being wrong, and talking out your @ss. Sad thing is a lot of people on here actually think you're some credible source.

He seems like such a good guy and loves UT. I really wish he could be good at basketball too. Hopefully nothing serious comes of this.

No violation according to Wes Rucker. Woolridge was only scouting a place for a video.

Yeah, good call on this one. Defend the guy who kept us in the news with violations and brought the NCAA to town and criticize the department that has kept the NCAA off our back for many years as well as (indirectly) a kid who did nothing wrong.

Never fails, though, that you'll step and fetch for your favorites, no matter the leaps in logic it requires, while searching for the most negative angle possible on others.

I don't know about the Kiffin thing, but this is very well said. I agree 100%

Well, if you agree, that pretty well seals the deal.

Yep. Case closed. Set in stone the Postulate of Hatvol as written by Unimane. Copyright pending.

Haha jk I don't care anymore, but I do agree with Unimane. If you want to turn that into an insult somehow, that's fine. Wouldn't be the first, certainly won't b the last.

So, you agree with a patent lie. You really are a Pearl supporter. The 'AA was investigating the Pearl stuff before Kiffin was ever hired. That's an inconvenient truth for you.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. As I stated in my last post, I was only discussing the the latter portion of the post I quoted.

Furthermore, I will say, again, my stance on Bruce is that I think he did a very bad thing that must be punished. However, I don't think it warrants a firing, but I certainly wouldn't argue if he were suspended for any amount of time. Ultimately, I wouldn't argue even if he were fired. It'd be pretty tough to challenge that potential decision, but I just believe it's unnecessary. Bottom line, yes I do support Bruce, no I'm not willing to give him a free pass, no I wouldn't argue if there were a harsh punishment from the NCAA. Please don't put words in my mouth.

Tell me what I'm missing here
-According to ESPN the investigation into the basketball program lasted 17 months. Tennessee Volunteers punish Bruce Pearl for misleading NCAA - ESPN
-Lane Kiffin was hired in December of 2008.
-Pearl lied to the NCAA about the violations on June 14, 2010, cofessed two months later, and the self imposed sanctions were announced one month later in September.

Now I would assume since the NCAA asked Bruce about the picture on June 14th 2010 the investigation was still ongoing at that time. That would mean there is no way the investigation started before Kiffin was hired. What information do you have that says otherwise?
