Agreed. Stuff like this doesn't help the cause. There are legitimate phrases and expressions that can be categorized as racist or as having a racist origin (such as "selling someone down the river"). "Field" is not one of those.

Well documented that controlling language is historically used for mal intent. This is not harmless. Years ago and several times since the hospital industry tried to script what nurses said to their pts using the word “always” in several sentences. They literally wrote out what we were to say.
It related directly to scores received from pts post hospitalization surveys. A 9 or 10 score as elicited by the response “ always” would get you higher reimbursement if you were above the national average and could be claimed by the hospital as a bragging point for advertising. This wasn’t too assure better care for pts but for money and bragging rights.
What is manipulation of speech for an agenda called? It doesn’t matter who’s doing it, just that it’s happening at all.

This is total silliness. Again, I don't know what the left thinks they're accomplishing with this. The difference between the loony left and the loony right is the loony left is harmless and wants to play silly semantic games. The loony right has guns and wants to overthrow democracy.

Actually, the „looney right“ pretty much wants to be left the heck alone. Quit telling us what to eat, what to drive, what pronouns to use, what shots to take, what to wear on our faces, what kind of stove to have in our kitchen, what kind of light bulbs to buy, what we can’t say on Twitter and Facebook, how much trans fat to put in our food, how much water our toilets can use, that we have to let teachers tell our preteen kids about sexual details, what weddings we have to bake cakes for, when to change our clocks twice a year, who we are allowed to vote for (trying to kick Republicans off of ballots), etc etc. This is total silliness. There is nothing remotely "harmless" about barreling towards Newspeak. Making words politically actionable is one of the more dangerous things happening in this country. There are definitely some on the "Left" that push back pretty hard on some this, Mahr for example. However you specifically cite the "loony left" so no...you don't get to play the harmless comparison. (and we're not even talking about riots and things like CHAZ)

Quit trying to use the power of Government to micromanage every aspect of our lives .
Article One of the Constitution lists explicitly what Congress IS allowed to do. It it ain’t in that list of enumerated powers, get your dang nose out of it!!!!
Ha, Ha, HaYou don't even know what woke means. Sadly, many who identify themselves as woke, don't know either.
