Worley or Peterman?

In terms of Worley, I can't imagine going up against NFL caliber defense in Alabama one year removed from high school....and without some of your best weapons (Hunter)....and with a struggling offensive line ('10). It seems he got the terribly short end of a stick his true freshman year.

Sorry if you clicked expecting an analysis. I`m unenlightened on the 2 UT QBs. I was just wondering what VolNation wants to see happen. I know it will work out in the spring and summer, but who do yall see as the next QB? does anyone have a comparison of their stats from high school? If so,plz include their opp. win pct! I know Worley played with CP in SCar. Peterman was in Fla.... Worley has sucked on the field so far. What do you guys see playing out over the next 8 months? Will Worley or Peterman or ??? get the nod vs. A.P.???? GO VOLS!!!

I see Peterman winning the job and Worley transferring to U.T. Chattanooga....

No need for Peterman to remain on the roster, from his standpoint, if/when is beat out, so I imagine he will transfer. Hell, he may end up at Western with Petrino.

You always need a good backup. Especially if you run a lot of zone read

Worley hasn't sucked at all on the field. Most of his experience has came against Alabama, USCjr, and Arkansas as a true freshman and without Justin Hunter.

Despite he made some nice plays, and showed flashes of greatness. Just has to become more consistent, Like any young qb.

Well said. :good!:

I remember Worley layin that ball right in Darick's hands on a post pattern and it was dropped.

After O/W we will have a better feel for this as far as an off the cuff prediction Peterman with Worley transferring. Peterman was heavily recruited by CBJ out of HS for a reason.

This is just a prediction and Worley could end up holding the heisman next year as the vols QB too

I don't get all the hype for Petermen when he has not played a down and because BJ recruited him does not mean nothing. He still has to earn the job. We really don't know how good Worley is because Dooley threw him right to the sharks. He didn't have a lot of help when he was playing.
There is no evidence that Petermen is the man to lead Tn.

and he won't have any weapons including Hunter so your aurgument is lacking facts.

How is my argument lacking facts anyway?

Fact he was a freshman.
Fact Alabama and USC were two of the defenses in the nation.
Fact he didn't have Hunter.
Fact he didn't have a running game.
Fact his offensive line was almost entirely sophmores.

We're are your facts that show he sucks?

Chaney was really high on Peterman.
Plus he's supposed to be a very good runner

I love how everyone says Peterman when he hasn't ever taken a live game snap. Has he even taken a scrimmage snap? All QB's look good in 7v7. Well, they are suppose to.

Johnny football didnt take a snap at aTm either till this year.

Why Peterman?
The hype on Peterman was how he stood out anytime he was operating the offense in practice. Word got a round pretty fast about this kids skills.
Of course it will be a competition, and I think a good one. I think Worley should have gotten more playing time this year. Oh well, didn't happen.
I think either QB will have a tough time because you are losing your entire receiving offense with very little experience returning.
The one physical advantage Peterman brings is mobility.
Also, I know first hand that this kid is Tebow Jr. when it comes to leadership and character.
Lastly, Butch recruited Peterman personally, so he knows his skills and knows he has what works in his offense.
But, I wouldn't under estimate Worley. He has some skills.

Chaney isn't here any longer and because he is suppose to be a good runner does not make him a QB. I'm not bashing Petermen by any means and if he is the QB then good for him. But I remember reading the same hype about Worley before he played a down. Not about the running part but the same type of hype and now he sucks according to some.

Then you don't know what you're watching.

What's so impressive about Worley? He is a little small, not a huge arm, and can't run.

Not exactly a great fit for CBJs offense.

I know he was thrown to the wolves, but that isn't a reason why he should start

I'm watching a game where Brendan Kaye is starting, and I don't see worley being able to beat out Peterman because he cant run. We are going into a year where we our best players are on the offensive line, and in the back field. Marlin Lane, and Rajion Neal would make a great 2 back package if you teach them the basics of blocking. We need a QB who can run the read option very well because we have the guys that can block. Lets enjoy the pounding of the rock like in 2011 with Isiah Pead and George Winn.

Can someone please explain to me what Peterman brings to the table for the Vols? I've never seen the guy play.

Peterman has a strong bullet, he throws accurate, but not as accurate as Worley. Peterman can run way faster than Worley, and he can make plays with his feet. Peterman also makes good decisions and hopefully wont throw many picks.

People are talking about Peterman like he's some elusive runner.

I didn't get that vibe from him at all watching his HS highlights. I saw him make some plays with his feet every now and then, just like 99 percent of high school QB's do, but nothing that "wowed" me.

As for the OP, no one will know until after Spring has come and gone, but I personally think Worley will be the starter.

Because someone on Volnation typed that he could run.
