Would CBJ ever go to Michigan?

How about the man wins some football games before we all get worried about what teams will try to steal him away.

Good Lord, it wasnt that long ago that people were disappointed that Hart settled for Jones.

Going to Michigan or Michigan State and the Big 10 AFTER UT and the SEC would be like being with the NY Yankees and saying, "naw I need a bigger and better challenge so I'm announcing I'm leaving for the Toledo Mudhens." OP is an obvious troll.

I appreciate where you are at. But the rest of the nation would agree that there are a few jobs that are considered more prestigious than UT, even in the Big10.

I dont see Jones as the kind of guy to leave unless the UTAD just bungles everything up, which is entirely possible.

Well I would like to think that Kiffin was an exception and the fact he used UT as a stepping stone to get the USC job just highlights how bad a hire that was.

I don't believe the UT coaching job should ever be viewed as a stepping stone. The only way I see CBJ leaving for another job is if we are not paying the man what he is worth.

Agreed. UT is a destination gig. But I fear the UTAD not ponying up the dough when the time comes. I tend to worry about things that haven't happened yet, but can't ignore the potential of such an occurrence.

If he does what I think he is gonna do here then Vols will have to come up with the cash in about three or four years. If he doesn't do it then he want be here and this thread will mean nothing as we'll be talking about somebody else.

We are not blind to the fact that winning first is the most important factor in this scenario. Several recent posts have included that condition into the equation. If there were no mention of the importance of winning, I'd understand your perspective.
Reasonable discussions on VN are too often interrupted by the Al Davises of the world that offer nothing more than a useless, "Just win, baby." #justsayin
PS: I mean you know personal offense, MWAVolfan. Just frustrated with so many who interject with that type of post.

Ehhh

It is a definite possibility he moves on, assuming that he has the level of success here that we envision. The 'neck hatred spewed toward the op is beyond ridiculous, yet not surprising.

You are on point north.

It takes talent to pull off the double feat of being incredibly optimistic (Butch turning UT into a conference title contender) and apocalyptically pessimistic (Butch would leave UT in the lurch).

I'm impressed, OP.

Is that(talent) what you call it?

He's said multiple times that this is his dream job.

And I'm sure at one point he said UC was his dream job. It is what it is. There is no reason to hang on every word these guy's say.

Every coach says the same thing. Hell, Franklin had Vandy fans thinking that was his dream job. Penn St. job opens, doubles or tripples his pay and Poof, he gone!

It happens.

I seriously doubt any NCAA football coach has ever said Cincinatti was their dream job.

I don't like it, but the reality is if Butch can turnover TN to become a SEC Championship contender, he will get looks from other schools.

I see Michigan or Michigan State, the only schools he would bolt too.

Michigan may be looking for a new coach in 2015.

Am I delusional or do other Vol fans fear the same thing?

He'd be an idiot if he did that. If he turns UT around, he will be a king and be paid like one too.
