Would Nike/ UA sponsorship help us with recruits?

They don't use Adidas in the NFL, They use Reebok

Reggie Bush is the Top Adidas endorser in the US! (Beckham already went back across the big pond)

MultiVu | ADIDAS HITS GRIDIRON WITH TOP NFL PICK REGGIE BUSH

Reebok is the Official supplier for the NFL, not for Mr Bush! Just like NIKE has LT, Troy Polamalu, Urlacher, etc. Just like UA has Devin Hester.
TENNESSEESLIM is right on, Adidas only has the "Cool/ Hip" factor with soccer players! These young athletes we want the Kiffin Crew to bring in are 'into' the hip hop/ urban wear that NIKE essentially invented!

I kinda see how this pertains to recruiting, but really? If recruits factor in a school's uniform on the same level as the staff, the education, the location, the teammates, the fans, the facilities............ then what has recruiting come to?

I'm sure I'm not the first one to ask you if you're a Nike suit.

He is trying just a little too hard to convince people on this.

Anyway...It doesn't seem to hinder Notre Dame's recruiting and image.

We don't want to be cool.... just dominant.

I'm just gonna throw this out there, but the most famous athlete on planet Earth, David Beckham, is sponsored by Adidas.

Not disagreeing w/ you on that, but most of those people who make him the most popular or famous athlete in the world like the wrong kind of football.

You may have a point here... Maybe we're totally barking up the wrong tree! If Mossy Oak or Realtree could put out some uni's & cleats we would be both Invisible to our opponents and Unstoppable!! And this would be truly marketable to most of UT's demographics & fan base!

Jersey sells would sky rocket due to their addition function...Game day & Deer season! Who needs a duel threat QB when we'll have a duel threat Jersey!

Just think, camo would have helped Tennessee recruit the souljas like Kellen Winslow.

All I know is this, Under Armour gear sucks! My wife works for New Balance corporate and she told me that when Auburn switched from New Balance sponsorship to UA, all of the football players immediately started complaining about UA's cleats and clothes about how they were always falling apart. If you go back and watch Auburn games, you'll see a bunch of Auburn players wearing cleats with tape all over them... That's because they called up New Balance and asked for cleats to replace the UA cleats. They just couldn't show the NB logo's since the school was under contract with UA.

If we switch to anything, which personally I don't care, it should be NIKE.

I know for a fact that the Adidas basketball shoes our guys wear constantly fall apart. I've got several pairs that I wear that came directly from the team and two had blowouts within two weeks of the first wear. I've also got a few pairs that players wore during games that are a jumpstop away from the toebox bursting. The shoes C-lo was wearing when he twisted his ankle really bad his junior year don't exactly look like the most stable thing in the world, especially for a D1 athlete to be wearing.

Also, another reason we probably won't switch is because of baseball. If you sign a Nike deal, you have to use their bats, and they're terrible compared with Easton, TPX, DeMarini, ..etc

tell that to Miami, UGA, FSU, etc that are annually making trips to Omaha. I know what you are saying though b/c last year's Nike bats were bad. I read a report about them that there were alot of players from the Nike schools that were reverting to the previous year's Nike bats b/c last year's crop wasn't the best.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but in all honesty do you believe a kid is going to go to a school just for the shoe and jersey sponsor a particular school has? NO! They are going to go where they can have an immediate impact and can win Championships! Nuff said.

I dont care who are sponsor is, just win baby and they will all come knockin on our door.
