Would you guys be happy with a recruiting class like this?

One other thing people also need to remember is the star rating system is based on what the players are doing in HS. Meaning how they are being used. A TE might be rated a 3 star because the team using him only as a run blocker, but he might have great hands and be a 4 or 5 star if they would throw the ball more. A RB might get 4 stars because they run the ball 9 of 10 times. Alot of OL get rated low because of their pass protection ability but they usually are not developed that way yet because the team focuses on the run so they do not train them that way.

That is where a good evaluation comes in on whether or not a 3 star has the potential to become a 5 star(NFL) player by the time he leaves college. NFL scouts look at it the same way. The higher the ceiling for development the better the player. Star ratings look more at the current product on the filed, in this case HS, not what it might be.

The only sure thing that people can compare between CDD and CNS is identifying talent. Like I have said CDD knows talent and LSU's 2003 title was because of his evaluation. So I do not see why so many people question can he get the right into the program for UT to get back to the top. I think he has proven that. The real qeustion is will he be able to develop it. That is where CNS has proven himseelf. It is one thing to develop talent another to evaluate it and and great coaches do both.

But whether CDD can develop remains to be seen but until he gets a chance I fail to understand why so many think he can not. I guess the fascination with stars and class rankings get some people excited, but as I posted above that only looks good coming into the school, afterwards he means nothing if you can not develop them.

A lot of fans fall into this "trap". I could care less about stars as long as the right players are found to fill the needs.

If each one of these kids were going against nothing but teams with 11 D-1 propects on both sides of the ball each and every game, there would be a need for these stars. But they are not. They may face one or two on average in a season. These stars are given by people who make a living for these different services. I will take a college coaches evaluation any day over these guys on these sites.

Keep up the good work TW!
