Would you like for Bruce to resign now?

Everybody knows what he has done for ut basketball, but it sounds and looks as though the inevitable is going to happen. If he resigns we have a lost one heck of a coach, do i want him to resign, heck no i dont.

Hamilton completely botched this whole saga. BP should have been forced to resign when all of this became public. The NCAA WILL make an example of BP.

BP has brought success to UTK men's basketball. True. However, with the unknown of the penalties, the now public lack of integrity of the coach, and the unknown status of the coach, what big time recruit is going to committ in the next 2 years?

Getting rid of BP now would be painful, short term. But, it allows the program to clear the dark cloud hanging over the program and move forward.

He does that often, nothing new. Heard he can raise a few bucks though.

First and foremost Bruce Pearl should be the coach at the University of Tennessee. He is a great coach and an unbelievable motivator. All of this negative crap is ridiculous. There is no one better suited to coach the UT Vols than Bruce Pearl. HatVol your comments make me wanna slap you. You are an intelligent guy but your posts are stupid as hell. I believe in results and Bruce Pearl has brought some great results to this university. I just hope and pray he gets thru this investigation. If you wanna crucify the man then go ahead and do it.....I'll stay on the pearl bandwagon and say I TOLD YOU SO when the time comes.....

yes now! at first i wanted him to stay has long as UT would allow him, but after the last few games and seeing that his son (steven pearl) is seeing playing time, I think its best he leaves now. With his son seeing this much playing time and starting against ut-martin is adding fuel to the fire!!!

this is literally one of the most ridiculous reasons i've ever seen. hey lets just go get the next wade houston, can't f'ing wait for that to happen.

people are delusional that due to facilities and an updated arena that automatically we'll just go get any good coach. doesn't necessarily work for fball, why does it automatically work for bball

Crucify? Poor choice of words. The guy committed not just one, but many actions that can result in justified dismissal. He still has a great job making over a million bucks. Hardly crucufixion. Bruce Pearl did this, Hatvol didn't do it. No UT fan did it. Bruce Pearl did it. I love Pearl and what he has done, but he is not UT basketball. He without doubt has brought UT basketball to new heights but he isn't bigger than the program. Take a look at coaches who became bigger than the program. It never ends well. Bowden, Nolan Richardson, Fulmer, etc. The worst thing to do is to think a program must have an individual to be successful. It just isn't so, and that isn't to say losing Pearl would not be a loss. It would be a huge loss. However, this is a mess he created and is hurting the program and will continue to do so. 5 years of great success doesn't give him the right to bring even 2 years of what we are in right now and maybe even worse. At some point, the damage outweighs the success and that is a real possibility. An 2010 elite 8 isn't worth a year or 2 of probation in my opiinion. It is silly to blame people for feeling Pearl should be gone. There are many fans such as myself who supported UT bball long before Bruce and this program isn't about him alone. Pearl created this mess, and I hate that it happened, but it did. Just because I think he should be fired doesn't mean I don't think he has been great for UT or is a good coach. It simply means that this whole thing is going to be a mess, and if firing Pearl will elp preserve a future for UT bball, then I support that. No one can make any logical, factual case that he has not done enough to be fired.

I think Anderson would turn us down. We interviewed him before and he wasn't the guy and now he is at a good job but sometimes I think coaches hold a grudge for overlooking them.

If we agreed to pay him what we were paying Pearl, I'd be surprised if he wouldn't come.

Don't think anyone says it is a slam dunk to get better coach, but easier than in years past. Comparing to football isn't necc way to go. Football had a roster that would require at least 2 years to compete, bball roster can win conference now. Also competition in football in conference tougher than basketball, a prospective football coach will look at conf schedule and opposing coaches, then look at roster, and know how difficult the process will be. The basketball team was a point from a final 4 a year ago. No comparison. Furthermore, the possible candidates UT would be bale to get, makes no differnece in determining whether or not Bruce can or should be fired. If he is fired, it is based on his actions and the NCAA consequences, not "who we gonna get?"

We don't have a threat to score down low but the team has plenty of talent. Kenny is still very raw and could improve greatly.
