How so?

Again, instead of smearing people, engage in a discussion. How did I go back on comments? Also, what does being a great coach and motivator have to do with lying to ncaa and hindering investigation by asking others to lie? Did that happen or did it not happen? It did, according to UT and Pearl. THAT is the issue. I doubt being a great motoivator makes up for that.

Yes he lied to the NCAA. Yes he should be suspended but I really do NOT think there is a better fit out there for UT. He has a great system and I think players have bought into his methods. I just think his style fits our team because he has won games with lesser talent.
Would you like Bruce to resign now or wait out the season and not make a rash decision? I get the feeling many want him out asap that they feel is departure is inevitable anyways. I for one am reserving judgement for seasons end. I am trying not to let the poor performance of this one season over shadow what he has done here. I feel like everyone else he mad HUGE error in lying about something so small. I also give Bruce creedance for not doing the Kiffin when Iowa, Indiana and Memphis gauged his interest. He didn't command his salary match what Memphis reportedly was in ball park moneywise. He has marketed us well. I have gone to almost every game since I was a kid with my pops back before Stokely closed its doors and he sold popcorn to get into games before games were at stokely but at Alumni gymnasium. So we have spent our share of $$ over there in fact the news Sentinel interviewed him and had him on coverpage years ago when he went to pick up our season tickets he is 76 so has seen alot of good Ray Mears and Stu Aberdeen ball and a ton more bad basketball. I guess I am just trying to get a feel for everyone elses hopes for how this ends. I have endured many bad times in TBA and Bruce has made me feel happier than upset most days when walking to car after the games. Now I will acknowledge No one person is bigger than the University. I will say I love my coach and am not ready to give him his walking papers just yet. Enough about me and my thoughts, I want to poll the wounded fan base. I want to end this with a Go Vols!
Wow you are so clever mr. hatvol. I do wish I had every intention of listening to you babble on about how awful our basketball coach is. You are the typical tennessee fan who has zero faith in tennessee.
It doesnt matter if you think there is a better fit. If the NCAA comes down as hard on him as a lot of folks think they will, UT has no other choice but to fire him. Judging by recent events, I have a feeling that he sees the writing on the wall. The basketball program will survive and UT will hire a good coach.[/QUOTE]
You think Hammy makes a good choice if he has too?

I don't envision Hammy having the say-so.

. So I assume you are taking back your comment about me going back on my comments? You still haven't explained how I did that. Furthermore, how can you say someone doesn't have faith in Tennessee when clearly you don't have faith in Tennessee enough to make a change and get competent replacement. We have faith in TN being able to survive without Pearl. Your comments contradict themselves and I just explained how. I am a Tennessee fan before and after Bruce and have enough faith in TN to get rid of a coach who has hurt program considerably. Noone argues he is good fit, that is irrelevant now. He did this, I didn't make him do it.Yes he lied to the NCAA. Yes he should be suspended but I really do NOT think there is a better fit out there for UT. First and foremost Bruce Pearl should be the coach at the University of Tennessee. He is a great coach and an unbelievable motivator. All of this negative crap is ridiculous. There is no one better suited to coach the UT Vols than Bruce Pearl. HatVol your comments make me wanna slap you. You are an intelligent guy but your posts are stupid as hell. I believe in results and Bruce Pearl has brought some great results to this university. I just hope and pray he gets thru this investigation. If you wanna crucify the man then go ahead and do it.....I'll stay on the pearl bandwagon and say I TOLD YOU SO when the time comes.....

He has definitely resurrected UR basketball. To those who say he should be fired, I ask if they have ever lied at work? What he did was very stupid since it was only a secondary violation only. We have all tried to cover our tracks when we have done something wrong. My only question for BP is where did he think the NCAA got the picture from? He should have known that one of the players took the pic and told the investigators all about it.
