Bruce Pearl was coach when I was at Tennessee. Hard to see him doing what he is at Auburn.

His success at Auburn represents just how mismanaged we have been at Tennessee.

Agree. Have a lot of Auburn friends who are acting like they are college basketball royalty. One of them even mentioned how Bruce Pearl would turn auburn into a blue blood program.

I’m not gonna downplay what Bruce pearl did with UT at his time here, he gave me some great childhood memories of course with the team of lofton Jajuan smith , Duke, Wayne schism, Bradshaw , Ramar Smith.. man those were some good days. One day I do hope he comes back to UT Bc he is a great coach , recruiter, even promoter he gave ut basketball expectations again in my opinion. Do I think he ever will come back.. sadly no

Mismanaged how? Did the old admin tell him to lie straight to the NCAA when presented with photo evidence of recruits at his house? Should Tennessee have just never fired him and let the show cause play out? Debatable. But Bruce burned the bridge. Not Tennessee.

The only mismanagement was Tennessee not firing him before the NCAA gave him his showcause. I don’t deny that he is a very good basketball coach but his character has been in question even before he came to Tennessee. He ethics puts him in the same boat with Pruitt.

Barnes has built a program. When he leaves, the foundation will still be there, especially with White as the AD. When Bruce leaves, it will probably be for a reason, and they’ll be searching for their version of Donnie Tyndall.

Bruce served his time for the robbery. However, we would be foolish to rehire him back at the big orange bank. Fool us once, shame on Bruce. Fool us twice, shame on us. Bruce's lack of integrity will lead to his downfall on the plains. Merely a question of when.

Bruce has already dodged one bullet at Auburn. He will find another way to get hit with one.

There were a segment of powerful people at Tennessee that wanted BP gone. I doubt no other major program in the SEC would have sent a extremely successful head coach into a meeting with the NCAA without at least the warning "Coach, we can live with the truth, but dont lie." Hart let him go into the fire totally blind. That told me Hart must have had orders to let Pearl hang himself.

Kinda hard for Hart to let him do that when all that went down 6 months before Hart was hired.

Everyone looks at the big issue with Pearl, but they forget that Pearl wasn't smart enough to keep his nose clean during the big investigation when he and Tony Jones made impermissible off-campus contact with Jordan Adams only 4 days after he cried while admitting he lied to investigators. Doesn't get much dumber than that.

He lied to his bosses at UT. Bruce brought it all on himself and didn’t deserve assistance from the administration to dodge the NCAA.

It's not his talk that worries me tomorrow, his having the best shot blocking center, a 6'10" forward that never seems to have an off night and 3 guards that can get deadly from 3 at a moments notice. GBO

Would you choose Pearl or Barnes to lead and prepare your team if the next game was the most important game of the year for you?

Without a doubt I would choose Pearl.

There's more creativity, more gamesmanship, more win at any cost, more do or die with Pearl.

He finds ways to get a few more incremental points to win games.

He's a gamer. He's a big game coach.
