Wow. Does the media ever hate Palin

I really can't believe the 2 news items I've posted in this thread are considered serious political reporting. It's really depressing what passes for political reporting these days.
Ant Weiner sends a pic of his shwanz to a college student (who was apparently okay with it because she's not filing suit) and he gets roasted, but Palin's crew actually breaks petty laws and people are being ridiculous trying to call her out on it?

There are many reporters out there in the world, if they want to get after her entourage for driving like maniacs, they can.

Really? I don't like her voice but you think she sounds less educated or complicated that any of a very long list of liberals?
Not that my opinion is worth much on this particular subject, but yeah. If your primary focus is getting Obama out of office in 2012, you get Palin as far away from the Republican party as you can. You're worried about the swing voters, and what droski said is the way many of them view her; a weird sideshow at best, or the ringleader of a big group of uneducated yokels that represent the GOP at worst.

So basically when lies are told you roll over, right?

Yes, I know the MSM hates conservatives like those who participate in the Tea Party. They do all they can to paint them as uneducated, unsophisticated, or whatever. Problem is... it isn't true. But every time you let someone win with a lie you encourage them to lie more.

If you were trying to win a contract and your competition began to spread false rumors about one of your managers and falsely suggested that your company's employees were underqualified, would you just roll over and accept it?

It isn't easy to fight those with the air time and ink that the liberal media has but you have to do all you can to fight false information that shapes public perception. Letting them win won't do it. If it isn't Palin then it will be the next person behind her then the next and the next.

To win these "swing voters", you have to shape their perception... not give in when the other side does.

The media cover Palin because there is a sick fascination with watching a regular person crash and burn. Its reality tv on steroids.

Regular person? Don't be absurd.

The article was crap and the description sounds like a Star Wars chase.

Wiener has made it a story himself. The tone of the traffic article was absurd as was the commentary about her flag violation.

Hell the traffic article blames her for leaving reporters no other choice but to drive recklessly - apparently endangering thousands and somehow linking that back to a picture of the Constitution on her bus. She's a menace to society and is disrespecting the flag.

She's no Ronald Reagan . . . but that is exactly what they used to say about him. While I doubt her ability to do the job, I think it's a huge mistake to dismiss her following.

No way she could pull in the necessary independent voters to even sniff the White House.

Why not? Easy target and generates ratings.

If she can use her public cache (as a patriot or an idiot, take your pick) and drape herself in the flag to line her pockets when nobody has any idea if she's pushing her agenda or herself, then the media can go so far as to call her the next coming of Hitler if they want if they think it will draw ratings when nobody seems to have any idea if they're a legitimate news organization or just pandering to partisan knuckleheads to make a buck.

I actually find her very sincere in her beliefs, please provide the proof that she is not, and can you actually explain why she is an idiot, or you just repeating the words of the obviously biased left wing reporters, comedians, and celebrities that hate her for her beliefs, you know those bastians of morality and wisdom. Some valid proof would be a great start to making a point.

Conservatives felt the same way about Obama. The independent voters tend not to be quite as hardened as we sometimes imagine.

All many people who "don't like her" know of her is what they've been told by the left-wing media. I don't know if she could sway enough but some people would be surprised if they actually heard her speak for herself.

If she gets elected, I'm moving to Canada.

Why? Is she going to steal your pony?

If you don't want to be governed by someone more respectful of our Constitution and the rights it guarantees then Canada might be a better place for you anyway.

I wish Progressives would make good on their promises to leave. There are many countries around the globe that are already run the way they want to run America. There are no other countries run the way conservatives/liberatarians want to run it.

If you really believe that Palin, or any other politician, really cares about the Constitution over getting elected, you are more idealistic than I first thought.

I think all her little sayings make her sound simple and uneducated. I think she is doing herself a disfavor

it would be nice if a reporter was allowed to ask her what book or where specifically she learned this new twist in history.

Yes. I believe some have more respect for it than others. Actions demonstrate that to be true.

"Over getting elected"? Who knows? But if it gets them elected and they want to stay elected then they have to convince people they're doing it.

FWIW, I don't always agree with them on every detail but I believe Rand and Ron both care more about the USC than being elected.

Do you really want to go down this trail?

Obama not too long ago attributed words from the Declaration to the USC... and he's supposed to be a Constitutional scholar. Gore once went to Monticello and had to ask an add who a bust was.... it was Thomas Jefferson.

How many factual goofs did Obama make during the last campaign? How many states are there?

Yes. She couldn't have flubbed that story in front of a worse group... TPer's who actually know their history. But it is hardly proof she's uneducated or stupid.

It would be even nicer if they'd asked Obama what management experience he had that qualified him to be President. It would be nice if they now asked him why his economic team is composed almost exclusively of academics rather than people who've run businesses.

It would be exceptionally nice if they asked him (a supposed constitutional scholar) to specifically explain the where the USC authorizes Congress to create something like Obamacare.
