Bru still hasn't even committed yet...I'd gladly take both. If he doesn't beat out Hyatt or whoever then...who cares. We have a few spots to burn.

Don't see us taking two WRs in the portal especially with all the help we need on defense. Maybe he could be a backup plan if Bru doesn't choose us but I think Bru been done for awhile.

Serious question, Bc I’m not familiar. Ive seen Jaylon ball.

A trio of Tillman, Robinson, McCoy would be nice, then add Hyatt and others to that mix.

I trust Heupel on offense. He could take a 2 star on offense and I'd be fine with it. Need studs on defense.

Yeah but this is his second year under Heupel and he has put in weight. There is little to suggest this guy is any better than who we have currently.
There is little to suggest that anyone outside of Tillman has done anything to suggest they’re better than Robinson. Robinson at least has some game film. Keyton is slow, Hyatt lacks concentration, Holliday looks like nothing more than a body. So who are you talking about? Merril?

I just jumped in and don’t care to argue but development and year 2 should help those guys you listed.

Edit: and I still hope we land Robinson.

Exactly!

Robinson has already done it. He wouldn’t be blocking anybody either. Last yr we went into the yr thinking our top guys would be tillman, Velus, Hyatt and Payton. That’s 4 guys. No different than this situation being Tillman, Hyatt, Robinson and Bru. And maybe a surprise from Calloway or Holiday. Plus guys get dinged up.

It also would allow the young guys to grow.

That’s my thing. Why can’t we have both? And this staff is always going to recruit for offense first. If we take 25 each year, they’re going to take 14-15 on offense.

Geez I hope not. That's what Dooley did and we saw where our defense ended up.
Well Dooley was a moron. But if you have 14 offensive players in a class… 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1-2 te, and 4 oline and 1-2 athletes. That’s not out of the ordinary. That’s 13-14 a class.

Maybe it works out if the athletes sometimes end up on defense. Just like balanced classes, not Dooley's way.

Raw talent has been shown to be more important on defense (Bill C's research) so I feel like taking more eggs on defense would be the move. This offense will create regardless. Jmo

I mean...I think WR is an unknown until someone else steps up. Yes, Tillman is solid. Hyatt has been inconsistent. Theres not really anyone else proven. I think you have to give yourself some solid options, and preferably not while forcing your freshmen to grow up too quickly. Squirrel, Merrill, Webb, Cameron Miller, Nimrod may be great. But they're still super young and need time and leadership. I'm okay with transfers to provide time for development and growth from the younger guys.

I agree except that Velus was pretty much the only solid contributor we had return last year, and then Tillman and Payton step up to the big stage. Hyatt has more production than Tillman did before last year. Would always love to add talent, but WR is one of the last positions that I’m worried about.

Why would this guy be back up to Bru McCoy?

Just because McCoy was a 5 star??

This is dude is a proven playmaker under Heupel already...

There's a whole 2020 season to suggest he'd automatically be #2 WR on our team.

So what Bru McCoy was a 5 star. So what Hyatt was a 4 star and ran a 10.3 100 meter.

This guy was almost a 1,000 yard player in this offense.

His film suggests he would adequately replace Velus Jones.

We DEFINITELY take this guy if wants to come.
