'18 WR Jaylon Robinson (Ole Miss Commit)

Those numbers are pretty damn close actually between Tillman and this guy. Tillman is THE guy as far as wideouts go. But it would be extremely foolish to not take another guy whom our coaches have worked with previously who is also dangerous. It is a GREAT problem for us to have as well as any DC who is on our schedule next year including Bama and UGA.
I'd be happy with a couple of 1000 yd receivers and then 3 with 500+

Difference between Robinson and everyone we have on campus not named Tillman is Robinson has performed at a high level in real college games. The rest of our WR is talented and has promise, but none of them have proven anything.

Agree with what you’re saying. But remember, this describes Tillman at this time last year. Sometimes you just have to let those with promise get on the field consistently.

I’ve debated with myself as well whether we need more WRs and the deciding factor for me was the Ole Miss game. If you guys remember, our guys were GASSED in the 4th quarter and that led to us not winning ad much as anything else. Our offense not only tires the defense, it tires us as well. I expect conditioning to be better this year, I expect some guys from last year to be better than expected, but most importantly, I think we need to run platoons this year to have our 1s as fresh as possible for a 4th quarter run.

theres no downfall here.

You get an electric, proven player especially in Heup's system. It makes us deeper and it allows room for an injury or something if somebody gets dinged up. Also allows the young, talented WRs we just signed to grow and develop.

Pretty easy debate for me.

Jaylon is better right now than everyone except maybe Tillman so you obviously take the guy that instantly improves the roster.

I agree 100%. The debate for me though is know we still have holes all over the roster and do we need to spread the transfers around to as many positions as possible.

Don’t think Robinson’s going to take up a spot that would otherwise go to a defensive player or an OL. Unfortunately we don’t have targets at those positions right now.

I think we would still have four spots available?

One of those might go to the Ramon Jefferson (I hope it does)

Then we will wait and see if we go after anyone else.

I think 3 or 4 scholarships is plenty to have left over.

I've came around on adding Robinson recently after thinking about some more. We are extremely young and inexperienced behind Hyatt and Tillman so it makes sense we would look to add Robinson even with Bru coming in. I really hope we land him plus it gives our young guys more time to develop.

You're right.
But that falls on Heupel in NOT letting the younger guys get more reps. As soon as they made a mistake they disappeared for gameS at a time.

Calloway had one bad drop against Florida and then never heard from after that.
Hyatt had the drop against Pitt and then went on to have a less effective year than his freshman season.
