Nope. They can't.I don't know, if Jimbo blows it this year T A/M could out bid us easily.
Ugh…Many said same thing about Butch and Pruitt… let’s consistently become a winner first… no reason we can’t keep JH. We have funding to compete w anyone. NFL would be my only worry as far as losing him but that will take a few more years for NFL to come around on his brand of offense. We finish in top 5-6 again (different qb) it will be hard to keep coach. Too many rich college programs out there wanting what we have.
I saw a podcast the other day where a guest stated that in the last decade only four (4) SEC coaches have left an SEC program to go to another program outside of the SEC. I think he said there were forty-four (44) coaching changes in the decade. Most retired or quit due health reasons. The next highest number was being fired. We finish in top 5-6 again (different qb) it will be hard to keep coach. Too many rich college programs out there wanting what we have.
100 Likes for you! Sorry that it is 'fun money' likes, but you earned them according to me! [Not that you need them ... you are hording them already. :^) ]Nope. They can't.
Because Dan White knows Josh. Knows him well enough to ask, "Josh, how much will it really take to keep you here, no bargaining, no coy responses, just the truth?" They know each other well enough and like each other enough that Josh will answer honestly. They're friends. They get each other. And then Dan will go out and find the money to keep Josh happy. Because Donde supports Dan, and if he says that's what it takes, she'll trust that he's right.
This isn't the UT administration of the 2000s or 2010s. We have some of the best in the business at each level. No one in the country can take from us the coaches we want to keep.
Go Vols!
Good post and point Halph!I saw a podcast the other day where a guest stated that in the last decade only four (4) SEC coaches have left an SEC program to go to another program outside of the SEC. I think he said there were forty-four (44) coaching changes in the decade. Most retired or quit due health reasons. The next highest number was being fired.
So, four coaches have left a SEC program for perceived greener pastures in ten years. One that he mentioned was James Franklin. Franklin left an anchored down ship and landed on his feet at Pedophile U.
Coaches don't leave this conference for greener pastures, when the pastures in the SEC are the greenest. History shows that. There is zero evidence to uphold your concern.
If he finishes in top 6 as you suggest. What other programs do you think would currently be more attractive than playing in front of 102k crazy orange fans?We finish in top 5-6 again (different qb) it will be hard to keep coach. Too many rich college programs out there wanting what we have.
