We finish in top 5-6 again (different qb) it will be hard to keep coach. Too many rich college programs out there wanting what we have.
Don’t get too far ahead of you’re self,
Tennessee can pay as much as any school

Some people should just stay quiet instead of documenting themselves and removing all doubt……SMDH!

Nope, Heup Ain’t that kind of guy. Loyalty means something to him. Unlike Kiff, he is experienced enough to know he will NEVER have what he has here anywhere else.

What can any program give Heupel that UT cannot? Facilities? Tradition? Fan base? Recruiting base? $$$? An AD that gave him a chance…twice, that he’s comfortable with and goes to bat for him.

Nobody can provide him what he’s got here. Threads like this are ridiculous. He’s the next Dabo. He gets to build his program at a major traditional power school in the SEC. He gets to resuscitate a dormant program, and enjoy the accolades that come with that achievement. Nobody can offer appreciably more than we can for the right situation.

WRITE THIS DOWN!

Will you people stop with this! JH is happy and if we do stay in the top 10 again, UT will not let him go anywhere. We have as much or more money than any team in the country. Why do people think we cannot afford him or anyone???

So you don't think we are rich enough or prestigious enough to be a destination school for a coach?

Now if he is the type of coach that likes "rebuilding programs" that have tanked, maybe ... but he may be the type of coach that likes to win.
IDC what we went through Tennessee is still a blueblood and one of the biggest brands. We offer everything that the other big dogs offer. Academics, top flight facilities, talented recruiting pipeline, big money boosters, and a rabid fanbase. Hell yeah top coaches will come to Tennessee we're not a stepping stone job.

Ah, the joy of having to even give more than a passing thought to losing a head football coach at Tennessee for a program change. We have rarely had adequate success to create that threat. Fulmer was a lifer. Last time it happened was Lane Kiffin and that did sting especially the timing. Doug Dickey heading to his alma mater in Gainesville before that. Everyone else was asked to leave I believe. In fact, historians check this but we have had only a small handful of coaches leave for other programs. Dickey of course ended up back on the Hill and did a heckuva job running the department. The only real threat would be if Oklahoma tugged at Coach Heup's heartstrings more than any of us know. I'd guess he would give an interview out of courtesy and just to see how much BStoops might attempt an apology but I don't really see him taking it. The big threat will be if we ever convince anyone outside Knoxville that Josh's system ISNT a gimmick and then lo' and behold here comes the NFL. Maybe we might just consider accepting the "gimmick label" and just hope the outside world would leave him be.

In other weird news, JT Shrout is the starting QB at Arkansas State. Is this his 8th school and is he about 37 years old at this point?
