WV Fan on gillespie

Running backs have it or they don't. It is not a position you "coach up" for the most part. I want a recruiter in that position. We will know if he can recruit at this level fairly soon. I never understood why people flipped out over losing a running back coach in the first place. Pretty much you just keep them focused on not fumbling and understanding the playbook and their pass protections.

education beyond highschool is not worth what you pay. your paying for connections when you go to college. most of the professors are losers and don't teach they think powerpoint is teaching you the material.

Some think 6th grade is plenty.

this was a conversation i had with a wv fan at work. of course the part about him being out of shape comes from me. graham was in shape. gillespie not so much.

What does being in shape have to do with anything? You probably worship Fulmer and he was by no means in shape.

He didn't do anything with our running backs, i wasn't impressed with him. i told him i wasn't either. i mean how can we be the guy has no track record of excellence that i am aware of.

Get the hell out of here! Why bring that negative **** here?

Yes you seem to be doing quite well without it. I'm glad that my engineering and medical degrees were little more than connections I bought from losers who taught me nothing. Alas, not even education can fix stupid, but when you have a none of one and an abundance of the other................you get this thread.

Obviously a very credible source, this is a very bad hire. Hopefully Butch will fire him before he even has a chance to coach.

I'll be glad when the season starts, when we can fight with a common opponent, instead of each other. The off season seems to bring out the racists, the anti-racists, the people who say that they hate racism, but want a coach or qb of a certain color, the grammar/puncuation/spelling Nazis, the elitists, the educated who feel superior to the lesser educated, etc.

I see mistakes on a whole lot of posts, but this isn't English class. Everyone should have the right to express his or her opinion without being bullied like this is Junior High. Disagree with what they say, not how they put it into words. Some may not have been as fortunate as others, and couldn't afford college. I graduated from U.T. in 1972. Does that make me a superior human being compared to the guy down the street who didn't finish high school? Not in the least. I was fortunate to have parents who valued an education. Not everyone has that.

Long story. Don't misinterpret what's happening here. 99.9% of us don't care about his educational background, they care that he is hardly capable of conveying a thought. I'm even cool with people I disagree with. Myself and others have lost our cool in this thread because half of it is practically unintelligible. The half that isn't is just ridiculous. At least the incoherent rambling half is hilarious. How do you think this got to be 8 pages?

In my case, it is the lack of something better to do. It's the off season.

Maybe... If you major in animal waste management or something.

Go take a graduate level course in EE and tell me it is just politics.

God have mercy on your soul.

I disagree here. I don't want to have a discussion with someone who doesn't have a 5th grade command of our language.

"UT sucks, and there football team is terrible"

Yes, I am going to tell them that is a 5th grade error.

Meh. I'm over this crap. Same things have been said about Graham. At this point, Gillespie haters need to stfu. Graham haters also need to stfu. What's happenned has happenned, let it go.

About WV, say what you want about the state, but out of the 8-10 girls I've met from there, none were ugly. If they're living in a gene drip, then those genes make for some pretty women.

I personally could not care less how effectively someone communicates or how much education they have. I do care when someone goes out of their way to constantly start threads that express 'opinions' which are universally negative and offer nothing constructive in return. When said individual also offers the opinion that a college education isn't worth anything, and does so in such a poor way as to leave little doubt about where he or she fits in the educational spectrum, I'm inclined to offer a bit of mockery, not of the person, but of the irony. This is, after all, about a college football team...right?

Everyone here is entitled to their opinion and everyone here enjoys the Constitutional right to share it. However, if you are truly a fan of our beloved Vols, a wise and prudent individual would choose to temper his or her opinion, and focus on stating such in a manner that is constructive. Given the role that attitude plays in performance, it is time that we as a community start policing ourselves, and insisting that we elevate the level of discourse. Should folks choose not to do so, I will use my genius, my engineering degree, and my 25 years of industry experience to mock you in four dimensions beyond the visible three. Think Sheldon Cooper as an annoyed Vol fan...

P.S. That last part was a joke...although we really do need to clean it up around here. It's the right thing to do, First Amendment rights notwithstanding.
