1st amendment has been respected. Not a single person faces charges in this thread, though some of it is criminal.

I personally could not care less how effectively someone communicates or how much education they have. I do care when someone goes out of their way to constantly start threads that express 'opinions' which are universally negative and offer nothing constructive in return. When said individual also offers the opinion that a college education isn't worth anything, and does so in such a poor way as to leave little doubt about where he or she fits in the educational spectrum, I'm inclined to offer a bit of mockery, not of the person, but of the irony. This is, after all, about a college football team...right?

Everyone here is entitled to their opinion and everyone here enjoys the Constitutional right to share it. However, if you are truly a fan of our beloved Vols, a wise and prudent individual would choose to temper his or her opinion, and focus on stating such in a manner that is constructive. Given the role that attitude plays in performance, it is time that we as a community start policing ourselves, and insisting that we elevate the level of discourse. Should folks choose not to do so, I will use my genius, my engineering degree, and my 25 years of industry experience to mock you in four dimensions beyond the visible three. Think Sheldon Cooper as an annoyed Vol fan...

P.S. That last part was a joke...although we really do need to clean it up around here. It's the right thing to do, First Amendment rights notwithstanding.

Well said. Especially the part about the mockery and dimensions and stuff....

True. Probably shouldn't admit the number of times I've considered using my Second Amendment rights in response to some. :whistling:

I disagree here. I don't want to have a discussion with someone who doesn't have a 5th grade command of our language.

"UT sucks, and there football team is terrible"

Yes, I am going to tell them that is a 5th grade error.
I hope that you did the "there" thing intentionally, or KB and the Nazi Spelling Vols will reprimand you. I will extend the benefit of the doubt since you were quoting someone.

That's fine. I'm just blowing smoke. I'm bored. It's the off season.

Not trying to reprimand anyone, just having a little fun. Honestly, liked your original post.

I looked up Gillespies coaching records...

Oklahoma State
•Under Gillespie's tutelage, senior Keith Toston blossomed into an all-Big 12 first team performer who rushed for 1,218 yards, and the Cowboys led the conference in rushing offense at 187.8 yards per game. Fullback Bryant Ward also earned first-team all-conference honors in Gillespie's first season.

South Carolina
•Under Gillespie's watch, the South Carolina backs combined to rush for 1,876 yards in 2006, marking a 61 percent increase from the year prior to his appointment as running backs coach. South Carolina averaged 144.31 rushing yards per game in 2006, ranking 49th nationally just one year after ranking 108th among Division I-A teams with a 95.17 yards per game average.
•In 2007, Carolina tailback Cory Boyd rushed for 903 yards, the most yards for a Gamecock back since Derek Watson logged 1,066 yards rushing in 2000.

So, he sounds more than capable to me and I know he was a good Running Back in SEC so he is not "out of his league".... I'm supporting him 100%...GBO!!!!

Ouch! Spelling Nazis are out late. Caught.

Spelling nazis never sleep

education beyond highschool is not worth what you pay. your paying for connections when you go to college. most of the professors are losers and don't teach they think powerpoint is teaching you the material.

I hope like hell you were high when you posted this.

ummm... Sorry but dooley was terrible...lol

Sarcasm
Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt",[1] usually conveyed through irony or understatement.[2] Most authorities distinguish sarcasm from irony;[3] however, others argue that sarcasm may or often does involve irony[4] or employs ambivalence.[5]

Simple butthurt from Third World Virginia. Although Jones has brought some duds to Volhalla, Gillespie is not one of them. Plus, he will be more suited to this offense than Graham.

I'll be the first to say that I am not part of the Big Orange Grammar Police patrol. However, when you come on here badmouthing a college education and write like that, it makes you look like a complete clown. Reminds me of that t-shirt, "Huked on foniks wurks 4 me."

no problem with the team just some of the coaching hires.

They haven't even coached their first game together and yet you aren't happy? I'm guessing you are a half empty kind of guy?..... CBJ has put together a staff with a winning record, unlike the last hurricane that blew through here. Winners win...... Let them prove it on the field before you write them off. If you really LOVE the VOLS like I do you should be excited about this staff and come August 31st, a new begining will rise up and Tennessee football will once again be headed to our rightfull place in the top of the SEC.
