'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

Does anyone (other than Wright) actually know when Wright will commit? Until ink is put to paper I'm skeptical regardless of the pundits predictions.

He's always planned on announcing on NSD in Feb. Don't think that's changed. And if it did we won't know about it until we start hearing about cancelled official visits in Jan.

All you have to do is look at the demeanor of Darnell Wright in all of his interviews to tell you what you want to know. IN life people tend to gravitate towards others who are similar to themselves in how they think and do things. Darnell Wright is a fairly quiet guy who lets his play on the field do the talking, he’s not interested in media attention and all the hooplah that comes along with it. CJP In his own right is pretty similar to Wright in those ways. That’s a big part of why Darnell will become a Vol, close proximity to Darnell’s family and home is a bonus as well though.

I won’t count him as a Vol until GreysonDawg and the other annoying buttsniffers come around to tell us how Wright really didn’t fit the system of Coach Georgia McBulldog and his strict adherence to Coach Almost Butnocigar’s philosophy of interior pass protection. Followed with passive aggressive snark about how he is a good catch for Tennessee where he should start right away.

Swear to goodness, UGA fans are the mos annoying fan base in college football.

To clear things up in here on Soloman

He doesn’t count toward a class - only to the total 85.

He also may not play next year unless the hardship waiver with the NCAA gets through.

So him being ready “day one” is not the problem.

*This is my understanding, anyway.
Why does the two grad transfers we got this year count against this class then?

I could see GreysonDawg being that guy from their fan base that would poison a tree.

In fairness, Wright isn’t really a fit for a fake punt offense. More of a prototypical OT.

All transfers (Juco, undergrad and grad) do count toward all 3 limits (25 signings, 25 initial counters and 85 total counters) just like recruits coming out of HS. There are no special provisions in the NCAA Bylaws stating or implying otherwise. There some people on message boards who say otherwise, but they are wrong.

Am I wrong that Wright (pun not intended) can enroll for spring semester/ file for financial aid without benefit of NLI? IOW, announce 1-5 and still be on campus for the spring.

Lol. I should try to exercise tolerance and patience with UGA fans, but they really make that difficult........ 😎😎

The reason they behave as though they do is that after three disastrous hires by the University of Tennessee, the natural order of things has been disrupted and peasants have usurped the upper echelons of the SEC that have been vacated by non-perennial chokers. In short; they don't know how to act.

So if someone transfers after NSD... a school has to revoke a scholarship of a kid who signed?

Thank you. That makes more sense too.

When did this rule change bc in the past they have only counted against the 85?
