WWE Thread III

King has been grating as heel announcer for a while now. Hope he gets his ish straightened out, but in the meantime, I really like Graves work as heel announcer on NXT and wouldn't mind seeing him move up to one of the main brands.

While they're at it, can Byron Saxton please get suspended for sucking at his job?

It was actually kind of funny on Smackdown, I remember at least 3 occasions when either the guest commentators or the other announcers either cut Byron off or just completely dogged his announcing. Once he was on screen and visibly rolled his eyes and slumped his shoulders when it happened, like he realizes what a sad sack he is. :)

Has there been any confirmation that Graves will take King's place on Smackdown? I'm getting a little worried they'll just bring back Booker T.

It makes no sense why they keep putting him out there. He says absolutely nothing.

I haven't seen any discussion about it one way or the other, I just think Graves would do a great job based on his performance on NXT. He comes across there as a credible announcer, while drawing great "arrogant jerk" heat. The old school heel announcer draws heat by ignoring the heel wrestler's illegal acts in defiance of common sense and 20/20 vision. Graves acknowledges the heel behavior, and just flat out says "that's what you gotta do to win." It's may be a personal preference, but that just plays better for me, because it doesn't disengage me from the story as much.

so, put Booker T out there. Rehire Taz. Let Xavier Woods do it.

I think at some point you will see Xavier Woods on commentary, but not while he is part of your WORLD FAMOUS, TWO-TIME CHAMPS!

Incidentally, he had a great match with AJ on Smackdown, catch the replay if you missed it.

I legitimately think that's Saxton's gimmick, too suck at commentary and for everyone to roast him. I mean WWE obviously doesn't care too much about RAWs commentary so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the whole point.

I also agree Graves is good, as well as Phillips who usually announces with Graves. They make a good team.

The million dollar question is who is going to win MITB. Here's my thoughts.

Favorites to win:

Kevin Owens
Dean Ambrose

Dark horse:

Cesaro

Slim to no shot at winning:

Sami Zayn
Y2J
Alberto Del Rio

At first, I was confident that Owens was going to win, but now I'm starting to think that Ambrose is going to grab the briefcase.

After Ambrose saying something about it on Monday, I think it's almost definite that he does not win the briefcase.

I'm starting to think it could be Del Rio. He's the only guy that has no real feud coming out of the match. Owens and Zayn can feud unless they're separated by the split. Cesaro can either return to the IC title or turn heel and feud with Zayn. Jericho probably is done after SummerSlam. And they can probably find some way to elevate Ambrose without the briefcase for a Shield triple threat at SS. Del Rio may actually need the briefcase the most even though he is very unlikely to win it.

I think you have a good point about del Rio needing the briefcase the most. His character is most definitely the blandest of the bunch.

I'll be surprised if anyone but Ambrose wins at this point honestly. Also if Del Rio wins it, it'll be second straight disappointment and he will just be used a transitional champion like Sheamus was then go back to being a complete joke. So I hope it's not Del Rio. Cesaro needs it the most imo. He needs to be worked in thr main event already. He's ready. His mic skills are no worse than some main eventing right now. Owens will eventually be pushed in the main event regardless. Zayn is still fresh to the main roster and will play the role of under dog for most of his carrer until he finally comes up on top. Y2J doesn't need it. Ambrose is the obvious and boring answer. So fingers crossed for Cesaro.

I want to see Cesaro get the briefcase and then announce a head of time when he's going to cash in. I think you could tell a pretty good story of him wanting to prove he can be the guy.

Something I found interesting last year was that before the MITB ppv, WWE came out with a video game simulation of the MITB match. The simulation had Sheamus winning the briefcase. I was blown away when it actually happened at the ppv.

That may have been how they actually decided who it would be.

"Eh, just run a simulation in 2K16 and who ever it is will be the real winner"

My predictions on winners tonight. No pre show, don't really care about it.

Titus (dad of the year, its fathers day...so yeah? Lol)

Nattie and Becky (nothing is on the line, faces win)

John Cena (Dont need to explain)

The New Day (gotta get to that one year reign at SS, plus The Club doesn't have to be pinned)

Ambrose wins MITB. (Its obvious, but feel like WWE goes the obvious and lazy route this year.)

Dark horse for MITB . I'll go with Jericho. Some are Del Rio, or Cesaro. Owens is enough of a favorite to not be a dark horse, and Zayn I feel like has no chance... but Jericho has been doing much better as a heel than Rio, and I could see him having one last run as a heel champ for a couple short months or so.

And. Roman Reigns. (Don't need to explain.)
