WWE Thread III

Those elbows didn't look protected at all. He was pounding Orton. I can't buy that was the script

Then why did Lesnar:

Take off the gloves?
Go back after Orton if he was legit hurt?
Poorly act when Shane came out and not let him by?
F5 Shane?

Wrestlers are nothing if not great at improv.

Orton wouldn't quit, so Lesnar kept going. It wasn't the greatest F5 for one thing.

And when hasn't Lesnar acted poorly?

The way they had the camera angles panned back when Brock was facing down Shane made me think they had planned for Orton to come up with an RKO after the match was over. It was a wide shot that kept him in frame, but he never made it up off the mat.

I thought he was gonna hot one when he kinna rolled over and tried to get up.

Perhaps the beat down was scripted, but the actual seriousness of the cut to the head wasnt. Brock is well known for being one of the stiffest workers out there, he could have slipped up on one of the elbow strikes and just tried to stick to the script even after the blood was gushing.

So Lesnar mysteriously lost his mind right at 11pm EDT?

Some of those shots may have been legit, but it's a work imo.

I think Brock legitimately got him but I think that was the plan in terms of how it planned out.

again, Lesnar was supposed to come out in full beast mode, but as mentioned above, he's known for being way too stiff. He got carried away.

After going back and looking a couple more times, it's cloudy at best. He did hit him with two hard elbows on the top of the head, but randy also had his hands in the same place as the cut after said elbows. It could go either way. It's a pretty nasty gash regardless. Idk that a blade could make that cut.

I thought he blades when he covered up.

The one thing that gives me slight pause is that they already had one "no contest" match. A little surprising they'd go to another screwy finish like that on the same night.

I agree. Especially after the Ambrose/Lesnar being a "no contest" as well.

I bet the "Brock f5's Shane" will continue the interpromotional war or whatever.

So what's the consesus? 1-10 rating on the entire show.

I would give it 7/10. Cena and Styles would be match of the night. Followed by Balor and Rollins.

What a confusing Summerslam! Some observations:

1. WWE, please don't do 6 hour ppvs ever again! It was quite obvious that the extended time sucked the life out of a Brooklyn crowd that's typically hot, and it sucked the life out of me.

2. AJ vs John should have been the main event, because that was MOTN. The main event we got was decent until the end. That was garbage.

3. What happened with the women's championship match? It was botchimania for Charlotte, and while that match had some high points, it was a mess.

2, because the Cena/Styles match. Well i didn't really pay attention to the Reigns match, i was busy doing a fantasy draft.
