Guys always flocked over to Clemens. That didn't mean any of them would piss on him if he were ablaze.
What does any of that have to do with the fact Cardinal fans, who love to babble about how much they love the game and history, marked out like a bunch of 10 year old John Cena fans for the biggest cheater in the history of the game?Never said he didn't use and didn't say he didn't know. All of MLB knew and all teams had users. You don't have to admit that. But you know it's true.

You watch. I talk to people who are actually employed in baseball. I'll take my chances on who has a clue and who doesn't.Really? Look man I watch the interaction he has with other teams and his own team. The dude is very well liked.
We've had some guys that were not liked and our mngr is not well liked. But Yadi is one that is like and that's just the fact and it's funny to those of us who go watch and know to listen to people tat don't have a clue.

What a shock. A Fulmer suck babbling about "in the mix." At least you are consistent. You gotta get to the series to lose it.
You sound like a Cubs fan. Not upset that your team is rarely in the mix but happy another team loses. It's sad. I'm glad I have a team that's usually in the mix.

Bonds was a great player without any help. McGwire was a broken down loser on his way out of baseball. He's the king?
That title must go to Bonds. Mac was a legit 40+ homer guy his rookie season. Plus. forehead growth alone was 2 to 1 Bonds.
Just remember who the GM was that brought Mac to St. Louis and where he's employed now........
I must have missed where I said anything positive about Walt Jocketty. He's the king?

McGwire was in career freefall when he took up the needle. Bonds did it simply because he got tired of seeing inferior trash like McGwire lauded as great. He's the king?

You now sound like a Braves fan. Division titles and 75 cents will get you a machine copy of USA Today.Fulmer suck? Nice try.
But the fact is, your reds have had little success as a member of the NLC. No need to change the subject. Your team has sucked and had very impact on the division and is little more than a bump in the road most years.
Now try bringing something lse up to change the subject.

How many MVPs did Bonds have in the case by the time he was 34? How many years did he stuggle to hit .200? Compare the answers to those questions to the same inquiries about McGwire. So the ends justify the means?
And depending on when Bonds started takind them, based on numbers, your claim can be refuted.
Barry Bonds Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com
Amazing how well a 34 year old can recover from injruy to have career years after it only to see it drop drastically again in 2005.
Note - no where am I even trying to argue Mac was as good of a player as Bonds.
I love it when fans reference things that happened 30 years before they were born as if they are connected to them.

You keep acting like the Cardinals are the Yankees. It's actually funny to watch. Of course, I'm not surprised that Cardinal fans revel in the accomplishments of bigoted trash like Enos Slaughter and Dixie Walker. It fits the mentality of the average Card fan.As a life long Cards fan I am connected to their history. Just as I feel connected to the history of UT. I never met Gen Neyland but I'm very proud of our history at UT just as I am proud of the tradition and history of my Red Birds.
Your team is older but their histroy and traditon can't touch that of the Cards.
You don't like history and don't feel pride of your past then fine. But I do.

As I've said many times on here, I've got nothing against the Cardinals. Listened to the last three innings of most of their games growing up. Rooted for Herzog's teams in their wars with the Mets. That said, there's a portion of their fanbase who has zero grasp on the reality of their "history." They aren't the Yankees. For that matter, they aren't as historically significant as the Dodgers. The Cardinals are in that next tier, with the Reds, Red Sox, and Tigers. They might be at the head of that group, but it's not by much and they aren't within screaming distance of the Yanks or Dodgers.Every team has them.
But I'm about halfway through a book on the history of baseball in St. Louis and colorful doesn't quite begin to describe some of the guys in the 30s.
To date I think Dizzy Dean is my personal favorite of that bunch.
