Rules, rules, schmules. Everybody trying to push the envelope as far as they can.

NCAA needs to modernize. They're making MILLIONS..Gets old with all the freakin rules, and who is breaking them, and who gets caught.

How about each major program has a million bucks each year to pay out to recruits. You got to make the best decisions you can with the money you have.

Tennessee paid 3 mill? last year on recruiting?? HOW? On what? Car Rentals? Motel 6?

Just seems like a bunch of old fashioned rules that obviously is not going to work going into the future.

BuBear.......

Guess you haven't comprehended what any of the stories say huh? If it's legit like they say they believe........... why wouldn't it be on the books?

Don't bother responding. Very obvious you are unarmed.

There's something in this story that makes it not sound legit.

SPORTSbyBROOKS Exclusive: NCAA Investigators In Eugene Friday

But a person who once worked with Lyles said the $25,000 payment exceeded the $16,500 Oregon paid the recruiting service for its work during the previous two years. The source said Lyles’ affiliation with the recruiting service had been terminated prior to Lyles billing Oregon on his own.

The issue isn't their paying for recruiting services, it's if those recruiting services then steered players to their program.

Recruiting services, as I understand it, is limited to scouting players, getting tape, etc. They don't actually "recruit" for you, lol.

That's the "so what."

Yeah, the distinction here is that you can pay a recruting service to scout for you, but you can't pay an individual that has such an intimate relationship with a player that the individual can be considered a handler.

Oregon's $25,000*payment to Will Lyles, recruiting service*in question - NCAA Football - SI.com

Lyles did not return calls from SI.com. His Web site features a "JUCO price list" that offers videos for a particular state for $3,000. A multi-state region costs $5,000. A "trifecta package" that includes any three states costs $8,000, while a "national package" costs $15,000. No single service is priced at $25,000.

Wouldn't it be plausible to pay 25K for a national package if it included HS players too? Just saying.

Not that outcome that I would have liked, but epic pictures none the less. The concept of a bear on a leash on the sidelines is awesome.

YouTube - Baylor Bear Mascot Homecoming Parade 2009 Aggie Corps boys kidnapped the bear once. They didn't make it too far before the bear ripped the interior of the car to shreads. They called Waco PD and told them where to find the abandoned vehicle lol.

Sounds like you all need to go through Dooley's course on shower etiquette and proper cleaning techniques.

Not sure if it's technically illegal, but it's clear what they did.

They bought recruits and are passing it off as just getting generic services.

See Oregon, being good comes at a high price.

Oregon purchased the international package. Linebackers from Guatemala and receivers from Malaysia are the next big things.

What are the chances that $25K above board is all they spent?
