what would be her motivation to lie about this? screw the team her son plays for? the only rational motivation would to lie would be to cover up HER taking money and that isn't exactly a better outcome than oregon.

Or maybe she isn't present enough in her son's life to know.

Kinda funny how 2 days ago you said you thought it was the Vols mailman, but the cold hard slap of reality shows it is the ducks. Quack quack.

You are reaching pretty hard here and as this thing moves further along, the more your fan base sounds like Auburn.

or usc

i saw a thread on the oregon board basically saying the ncaa is going after them because they are on top. SAME exact garbage you hear from USC fans.

The NCAA is always more concerned with successful programs than mediocre ones like Cal.

It's time to stop trying to defend this. It's pathetic. Disgusting. And once again negative press aimed at the ducks. Two years and counting. I am p*ssed off. And all duck fans should be as well.

Oh, relax.

yeah that's why we got put on probation in both major sports in the 90s. they really went easy on us. strange that oregon has a losing record against said mediocre program. what does that make oregon?

i dont' care if she's the biggest crackhead on earth. i assure you she would at least know who was given her son advice about where to go. it's in her financial interest too.

Didn't Cal just get in trouble with the NCAA for phone calls made by the basketball coaches? Tennessee has been mediocre for years and we are in some serious trouble with basketball. That's a lame excuse and you know it.

And then the cheap shot at Cal fans.

Even a writer for the ERG was on the radio this morning saying there's too much smoke to ignore and that duck fans should be upset and questioning the program.

Oregon really is the PAC 12's new USC.

"What did they get from Lyles this year?

A source says not much, that it was a terrible business decision — ya think? — and that the payment was made in March 2010 for information on the Class of 2011 — the kids who signed last month — "and we didn’t get anybody."

Interesting.

I am concerned that we're getting close to the point of breaking rules? Absolutely. Am I going to freak out and get mad at this point? Nope.

I'll reserve that for when (if) anything conclusively damning comes out. At this.point, it's mostly speculation and hearsay.

so they paid him for his effort to encourage him to help them out in teh future. explains the lower amount as well. deliver someone and get $25K. help us out, but don't deliver him, and get far less.

If everybody uses these sorts of scouting services, I'd say the NCAA knows about them.

Why then would they only put Oregon under scrutiny for it? Hint: it's not because they're a bunch of haters.

Simple logic here.

how is it speculation and hearsay? everyone knew this guy was representing seastrunk. oregon paid him. that makes him a booster by ncaa rules. a booster cannot be involved in teh recruiting process. it's pretty open and shut. the real gray area is thomas.

How is Thomas a gray area? You have no proof that this guy was his handler. Come on now.

Because Yahoo and ESPN are trying to generate clicks for their sites.

we have plenty of evidence the other guy was his handler and he got paid by oregon as well.

I doubt Yahoo and ESPN are really worrying about clicks but if they were there are many schools that would come out before Oregon.
