Yahoo Sports lowers the boom on Miami

this happens everywhere, guys

South Florida is special...in the past four years alone, the FBI task force on public corruption has taken down at least 12-15 elected officials that I can remember in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami/Dade Counties. Three off of the Palm Beach Board of County Commissioners at one time. This wasn't the first time either.

It's part of the culture in South Florida, you want to do business, you grease the skids.

they deserve it..and i blame the administration and the coaches for allowing this to happen

they almost got drilled the first time and then they have the nerve to do it again? and we were still average the last 5 years. its pathetic really.

really sad and it took out all the hype for the football season for me..

You gonna ride it out with the Canes? I'm not suggesting that you are a flip-flipper with your allegiance or anything, just curious as you seem pretty irked.

Yahoo did their home work. That papertrail is a killer. Miami hasn't been a national presence for some time. The 'AA can afford to sacrifice them, even if the UM evidence was weak, compared to OSU for instance. This looks pretty solid.

As I have some connections to FSU...I can say SEE YA to those irritating canes.:finger3:

I feel bad for Al Golden. He didn't do anything to deserve this. Miami should give him an opt out. Jmo

I never thought about that. It's a shame. Dude was going to flip that program into elite status again IMO.

“It’s all true,” said one of Shapiro’s ex-girlfriends, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of reprisals from former Miami players. “He took care of them. What does that mean? It has a lot of meanings. He took care of them by giving cash to make sure they had stuff. He took care of them whenever they wanted to go party. He took care of them by getting them laid. He took care of them if they needed a place to stay. Whatever they needed, at that moment they needed it, Nevin would provide it. Whether it was sex, money, meals, a new TV, if their mother needed something, if they needed a new ring or some jewelry – whatever they needed, Nevin would provide it.”

.............Miami might as well move down a division. They just got nuked.

Miamicane, my condolences.

This is not nearly as bad as having a couple of committed players over to your house for a barbecue and lying about it to the "all mighty" NCAA though.

Al Golden is an old school class act with a promising career. I want to see that man succeed but he won't see success with Miami with these unfortunate developments. My best wishes go to him.

I think it's solidly safe to say this is the worst NCAA case since SMU. Possibly worse than that.

Baylor was worse because it was a murder so it takes the number one spot imo. This is not far behind SMU though.
