But the difference is I wasn't expecting your Hero Doofus to turn it around in 2 weeks or 2 months. Also if you really want to compare just look at the commit list Doofus was handed vs the utter disgrace Jones walked into with Doofus recruits.

Are you serious?? The class that was left Dooley?? Not sure if you remember the debacle that was kiffins departure. I put a link below not sure if it comes up right but refresh your memory a little. In case it doesn't here's a small quick list of players who decommited right away upon his departure:

1. Brandon Willis** Defensive Tackle* *4-Star
2. Michael Taylor* *Linebacker** 4-Star
3. Calvin Smith** Defensive Tackle** 4-Star
4. Delvin Jones* *Defensive End** 4-Star
5. Ahmad Dixon out of Waco.

We got lucky that Bray was on campus or we would only have had Matt Simms when he got on campus and Nash Nance, not a single QB that had been on campus. Remember Kiffin ran them all off??? Dooley sealed up DR, Hunter, Stone, Neal, Rivera and others. Yes many were committed but acting like Dooley didn't come in and work some magic is ridiculous. Yes some were set up prior and he sealed them up but some weren't coming with Kiffin here either. CBJ has had 2 months and hasn't impressed by any means with that much time recruiting wise. Both green and lawson were set for him to seal up if he could sell himself for the future but obviously couldn't convince them. Dooley had an instant in to GA and sealed up hunter and DR, and everyone is getting excited about cbj trying to build a fence around TN and all of its great talent. :ermm:

I know you think Dooley was my hero but I just saw the issues the guy walked into and never thought he had a chance to get up to even ground.

I really don't know how CBJ is going to pan out. As a fan I hope that it works out great, but I'm going to take it slowly. All I know is that saying that he wasn't handed a way better situation than Dooley is truly foolish IMO. I gave Dooley a longer rope because of the situation he came into. I will give CBJ a way shorter leash because IMHO the situation he walked into was way better than Dooley. You can call me anything you want but trust me you won't change my mind.

Tennessee Vols' recruiting takes a hit as Lane Kiffin leaves for USC - ESPN

Coach Graham has the capacity to be a great recruiter, but he's not quite there yet. I think with this staff he has a better shot to get there, than with the previous staff's efforts. He's got to land talent for the position he coaches though, not just at other positions, in order for me to view him as a great recruiter at UT. Still plenty of time for him to obtain that status though.

You can try to revise history if you want. But the facts are that Dooley's best class was the first class, Dooley's last class (until Jones took over) was looking like it would be his worst, Dooley left Jones 3 losing seasons in a row, Dooley left Jones a UT who lost to KY for the first time in almost 3 decades, Dooley left Jones a team that lost in Nashville for the first time since the ice age, Dooley left Jones a team that area high school coaches said the relationship with UT was broken etc etc.
I get it, you're still pissed Doofus got fired from a job he was never qualified for in the first place. But to expect Jones to undo all the mess in 2 months is ridiculous. Hell just re establishing relationships with high school coaches will take longer than that.

Which means that Jones also has inherited Dooley's best class as upperclassmen...minus Hunter and Rogers. This is the group that needs to step up! GBO!:good!:

I'm revising history??? You have issues man. I gave you facts about what happened and I'm the one revising history?? You have serious issues man.

No sane person can say that CBJ was left a worse situation than Dooley. Maybe losers like you with chips on thier shoulders that frankly don't want to see the issues. Or maybe isnt competent enough to understand them, but tries to come off as he does. My 6 yo nephew can have a more mature convo than you can.

Btw - relationships with local coaches aren't worth a lick compared to relationships with HS coaches in actual talent filled area. Ie..Norcross. We have to concern ourselves with the fact that CBJ has to focus on local coaches and not able to have a good in with coaches in talent rich areas. That is going to take yrs and that's not good.

Like blue tic said...CBJ has a squad full of experienced upperclassman. Something Dooley didn't have when he got here.

Bray, Patterson and Hunter made up how much of our offense? Not to mention a defense that is so bad General Neyland is surely turning in his grave.
By no means measurable has Jones inherited a good football team.
I will hold Jones and every other UT coach accountable. But I will also use logic and not emotion when evaluating their performance.
I'm not sure what win loss record will suffice this coming year. What I want to see this coming season is progression from week to week which is something we haven't seen at UT in a very long time.

What's funny about this entire thing is that after 3 years the same people being overly critical of Jones were telling me and others that Dooley needed more time because 3 years was not enough. But in their "logic" 2 months is plenty of time for Jones. This is more proof that some of our "fans" were biggger supporters of Dooley than they were UT.

Agreed, not trying to infer anything about Jones...only that now is the time for this specific class to show leadership and make a positive impact. Im sure coach Jones will challenge them to do the same, give their all for Tennessee!

Yes you have issues. You act and always have like the loser that had his hand out during the Vol Walk and Dooley didn't shake it. And you've had a chip on ur shoulder about it ever since. Probaly reminds you of all the times the cool guys picked on your sorry azz, and banged your gfs.

I never acted like I was on my knees for Dooley or had loyalty more to him than UT. If you could comprehend basic english you could tell that I pushed for stability because that's what I believed would be best for the health of the program. Switching again without giving Dooley the time many agreed he needed was a big mistake. Now people are talking about another 3-4 yrs before we can be on solid ground. Is this best for UT?!?! IMHO...No it isn't!!

Haha, first off I don't meet UT coaches at the Vol walk. I meet them at golf tournaments, fund raisers and private parties.
And you sir are a liar. When I or anyone else criticized him for his coaching you attacked us for doing so and made excuse after excuse for his ineptitude (that means he didn't know what he was doing). You can try to revise history all you want and make your stupid little assertions but you are a liar and your hero Dooley is and was a horrible coach. And now you make idiotic statements that coach Jones should be able to undo your heroes colossal blunders in a mere 2 months. You sir lie and you sir are the one with issues.

That's like saying "He inherited $100....minus two 20 dollar bills."

Hunter and Rogers were far and away the best two from that class. Without them, that class isn't anything special.

Ha! Even worse! You probably got upset cause Dooley didn't pay attention to u at some event and you can't stand it that the money you spent didn't get him to give you the time of day. I know wayyyy to many losers like you. I know you better than you think and you r pathetic.

I love how you say I'm a liar yet overlook all I've said and just go to insults. I make assertions because I'm just a guy looking in. That's all I can do with the info I read and hear. Not my problem that you can't comprehend it. Your hatred towards Dooley for him not complementing your shirt that you bought especially to meet him, comes out when you write something.

Im giving cbj less slack because IMO he is walking into a better situation. He's getting pd a lot more too. It's really not that difficult to understand. I've never said anything bad about CBJ. Just said that I'm sitting back hoping for the best but not going to be as optimistic as others on here. He hasn't shown he is worthy of that. If he would have pulled out a great class in 2 MONTHS then I'd be impressed. That was his first test for me. He did ok on it but nothng special. Now we have to wait longer to see what he has to offer.

Dooley ignored a 5* football player 2hrs away. If he's ignoring fans then it's nothing out of the ordinary

Ha ha you're such an idiot. The ONE THING your hero was good at was kissing up to donors etc. Anyone on here who has ever been around Dooley will tell you that. At the events I was around him I got all the bull manure from him I wanted.

And you and your fellow worshipers of the Orange pants need to read the thread about how thin our Oline is then come on here and tell us how great your hero did.
In my opinion he is the worst coach to have ever walked the sidelines at UT. Now go wipe your chin.

Ok man. This crap is getting pretty old. To busy to deal with it and have to much actual things that matter to deal with. U and I don't like each other. Frankly there won't be a way to settle any of it either. U have ur opinion and I have mine. Just put me on ignore or just don't respond to any of my post. I'll do the same.
