Cal handles his "defections" in a different way though. He gets the kids to decide to transfer without raising a big fuss. He doesn't simply yank a scholarship because he wants to recruit over a player's head. At the end of the day, the casual fan thinks it's the player's idea instead of Cal's. Say about him what you will, but when it comes to controlling public perception, Cal is the maestro.

I really hope this wasn't him, but I'm 99.5% sure that I saw Makanjuola on campus today, and I'm 100% sure that he was not even 6'7.

A buddy of mine swears he saw Yemi on his recruiting visit and that he guessed the kid was 6-6. A few photos I've seem make him look a bit taller than Cam Tatum. I guess we'll all see when the season starts.

Have seen several photos (with our current players) and even workout clips of Yemi. Seems a legit 6'8. Stood eye level with Kenny and much taller than Cam. There seems to be no disputes about his weight though. The guy looks very big. If he is short, let's hope its Maymon-like (wide body). Readily admit that I've never seen him in person though.

Yeah, in pictures, he looks pretty big. That's why I'm surprised. The only reason I'm not saying that it definitely was him I saw is because I haven't seen him in real life before. In other words, I can all but guarantee that it was him.
