Yesterday could not have gone any worse for Tennessee

I get tired of all of the conspiracy mongering about seeding and the victim mentality of this or that person/institution being out to get us. It sucks the damn joy out of everything and moreover, it's loser talk. There were like 7 or 8 teams that went into the weekend KNOWING we were in the playoff. 7-8 out of 130. That's elite. If we are as good as many hope/believe, we can handle whoever they line up across from us, if not, we need to enjoy this accomplishment and the persistent indicators we have gotten under Heupel that more of this meaningful postseason play is ahead of us. It's a good time to be a Vol. Bring'em on.
AMEM!!! That kind of thinking drives crazy, "the refs caused that loss, the SEC tries to screw us, the committee is bias against us" I should have avoided this site for a few days to allow the negavols to get it out of their system.

I was, as everyone else, hoping to host and had plenty of valid reason to host a game, but OSU, according to the people who made the decision, had better wins and was above us....hard to argue. They lost to #1 by 1 point and an unranked 6-6 team. We lost to #2 and a 6-6 team.

We played 2 teams that ended the season ranked. We went 1-1. They played 3 that ended up ranked and went 2-1.

It is loser mentality, we are 1 of 3 SEC teams with a chance. 1 of 3 out of the toughest conference. Quit the accomplishment when most thought we would be 8-4 or 9-3 and play in the citrus bowl.

Yes it sure could have been a lot worse. UT could be playing in a mid-tier bowl and watching the CFP from their couch.

Dude had 3 threads going about the playoffs. The committee had already said; before the Conference Championships, that Tennessee wouldn't move, and the UT OSU matchup was basically a done deal. All the what ifs, speculation, and hang wringing. Geeze.

No question. We have some Eeyore’s around here that evidently have forgotten where we were from 2007 to 2022. Couldn’t beat any SEC team with a pulse and losing to the likes of Georgia State. I’ll take this any day of the week considering the alternatives. That committee wasn’t going to do us any favors. Ohio State has the rep and brand and we lost ours several years ago. We are going to have to earn it back and there’s no better place to start.

We were never going to host a first round game. It was a pipe dream. Was more likely that the stupid Big 10 selection committee would somehow figure out a way to drop us to the first team out.

That loss to Arkansas put our fate in the hands of a committee dominated by the Big 10. Haven’t leave no doubt. We are not getting the benefit of the doubt. Ever.

Just win.

Two good wins if you count Bama. I was mad at first, because it took overtime to beat Florida, but seeing how they dismantled LSU and Ole Miss at the end of the season with Lagway, I now feel a lot better about it and consider it the Vols best win.
The Florida team with Mertz & Lagway was a tough team. Mertz was outstanding vs Tennessee.

If Tennessee were looking for any help to make them look better in the eyes of the committee that door has been slammed shut.

Not only did Georgia win, but the game went to overtime. The committee will see this as "very competitive" even though both teams kind of sucked and I think Tennessee could have beaten either on on Saturday.

Also Pedophile State didn't get blown out by Oregon and will now be assured a home game.

And finally worthless trash Clemson now gets into the playoffs putting us in direct competition with yet another team. So the final seeding will most likely look like this with Tennessee going on the road.

Seed
1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Boise St
4. Arizona St
5. Notre Dame
6. Texas
7. Penn St
8. Ohio St
9. Tennessee
10. Indiana
11. SMU
12.Clemson

I don't really know about 10-12 or whether Bama gets in because it doesn't really concern Tennessee other than do they rank Clemson ahead of Tennessee because they won the conference which is totally an argument someone on that dumb committee will try and make.

So if you are a fan of things being absolutely as difficult as possible for Tennessee you'll probably be getting your wish. I just hope they can hold their own or win against OSU before getting squashed by Oregon.

GB🍊!
Who cares about seeding. We are in and the gumps are crying. We have to play 4 quarters of good football. Vols will win!
