Yesterday could not have gone any worse for Tennessee

What are you talking about? Who is unhappy about UT being in the playoff? The only pissing and moaning I see are those obsessed with Alabama.

It's a discussion about the playoff on a forum designed for ... discussions.
I get tired of all of the conspiracy mongering about seeding and the victim mentality of this or that person/institution being out to get us. It sucks the damn joy out of everything and moreover, it's loser talk. There were like 7 or 8 teams that went into the weekend KNOWING we were in the playoff. We were 1 of them. 7-8 out of 130. That's elite. If we are as good as many hope/believe, we can handle whoever they line up across from us, if not, we need to enjoy this accomplishment and the persistent indicators we have gotten under Heupel that more of this meaningful postseason play is ahead of us. It's a good time to be a Vol. Bring'em on.

Clemson to the playoffs is a damn travesty.
They aren't a bad team man. They are 10-3 and won their conference. They are every bit as good as multiple other teams that are getting in, just unlike your Notre Dame, SMU and Indiana's, Clemson had the balls to play Georgia and South Carolina out of conference. If those other teams had played Clemson's schedule, they'd have more losses too.

If multiple chaotic games and lots of losses didn't occur throughout November, Tennessee would likely have been left out. So, the stars aligned for the Vols and they handled business in November themselves. The Vols EASILY could have been left out for A&M, Ole Miss, Miami, Alabama and several other teams across the nation. The best case scenarios happened for the Vols all November.

The Vols have Florida, Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Syracuse and others to thank and they should all get Christmas cards from UT athletic department this year ....

Clemson has 3 losses and SMU has 2. If SMU makes the field (which Im skeptical of), they will have to be ahead of Clemson. Either Bama will be the 11 or SMU will be. No other teams have chance at 11 slot. Clemson gonna be the 12 no matter what.

Heck, PSU (11-2) will likely be ahead of tOSU (10-2) eventhough tOSU has two really good wins including one at PSU and PSU has no good wins...
Wanna bet on it?

Considering how Stockton performed, no it does not. He looked better than Beck. As I recall, FSU was down to their 3rd string QB who was pitiful.
Watch Georgia be down to their 3rd string QB too, and just able to hide it long enough for the committee to lock in their bye week.

Cynical. Let’s scrap the whole thing and just start over. The FCS 16 team playoff doesn’t hardly ever have controversy. Maybe they are on to something here

Realistic. A 16-team playoff with no byes, no auto bids, and no "committee" would be ideal, the most logical and fair way to do this.

Which is why it will never happen.

Not to mention Smart put Beck in the final play of the game, likely in part for the Committee’s eyes so that they can see he is presumably able to play. Of course given that they won the game on that play it wouldn’t have mattered who was at QB since the win gave them the automatic bid, but it was maybe just a little insurance in case they didn’t win. .
In 3 weeks he could be available but he will not be a 100%,

Agree 100%.

My issues with the playoff have nothing to do with UT. I'm thrilled to be in wherever they send us.

I don't think they're that good, but give them full credit for having the balls to actually schedule tough out of conference games.

If I was Dabo, I'd replace both of those games with two against Cupcake U. and Creampuff U.

Based on what this Committee has done, absolutely.

And I don't think Clemson is gonna win the Natty or anything, I just think they are every bit as good as Indiana, Penn State, SMU, Notre Dame, Arizona State, Boise State, etc. Clemson may have more losses, bit they played tougher teams than those other schools. Texas will beat Clemson though.

They're down a QB and punter. They're not going to win it all.
I don't think so either but where they are in the Bracket CFP at a 2 slot should be favorable to them. Punter will be critical and Beck out but who knows unless he is lost for the system. GA managed to win the game somehow but they seem to get favorable officiating.
There secondary is weak and has been all year.

This is a loser mentality. Those games were played and those teams lost! That's why the games are played. Tennessee was not "lucky" Tennessee could have easily lost to Vandy but they didn't. They took care of business when other teams didn't.

Tennessee was widely seen as belonging, ranked 6 in the AP and Coaches polls and 7th by the committee. By all rights Tennessee should be hosting SMU except for all the backroom dealings that make the champion of the Mountain West or B12 a better team than Tennessee.

Had Georgia or PSU been blown out there's absolutely a chance Tennessee could have been the 8 seed. Georgia was only ranked 2 spots ahead of Tennessee and people have suspected PSU a fraud all year they could have dropped like Indiana did.

Tennessee may escape with their lives from The Shoe but they aren't beating that Oregon team no way. Our offense can't score enough to keep up even if our defense plays well.
So just be done with Football Season what’s the point of even watching? Some of y’all are a bunch of sissy’s!

Too bad Tennessee doesn't have an offensive pulse 😂 Oregon's secondary is so bad too bad Tennessee can't pass the ball for crap. I guess anything is possible but playing Oregon on the West Coast seems like a big ask for Tennessee. That's assuming Tennessee even makes it that far. Here's for hoping! I still believe in Santa Claus so maybe he will bring me a Tennessee win!
So you wont be tuning in?

I wrote the following in another thread and below again...

Let's just beat osu, then oregon, then tx, then uga. Undisputed hardest playoff schedule. Stomp them into oblivion.

And to add something new, quit being babies who want a national championship playing 4 cupcakes in the playoffs.

Sack up wimps.

If Tennessee were looking for any help to make them look better in the eyes of the committee that door has been slammed shut.

Not only did Georgia win, but the game went to overtime. The committee will see this as "very competitive" even though both teams kind of sucked and I think Tennessee could have beaten either on on Saturday.

Also Pedophile State didn't get blown out by Oregon and will now be assured a home game.

And finally worthless trash Clemson now gets into the playoffs putting us in direct competition with yet another team. So the final seeding will most likely look like this with Tennessee going on the road.

Seed
1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Boise St
4. Arizona St
5. Notre Dame
6. Texas
7. Penn St
8. Ohio St
9. Tennessee
10. Indiana
11. SMU
12.Clemson

I don't really know about 10-12 or whether Bama gets in because it doesn't really concern Tennessee other than do they rank Clemson ahead of Tennessee because they won the conference which is totally an argument someone on that dumb committee will try and make.

So if you are a fan of things being absolutely as difficult as possible for Tennessee you'll probably be getting your wish. I just hope they can hold their own or win against OSU before getting squashed by Oregon.

GB🍊!
Tennessee should learn to handle business on the road against crappy Arkansas. Tennessee screwed Tennessee.
