Yeah! I kind of expected our Lady Vols to lose to Stanford. However, our men shouldn't lose to USC at any arena in the world!

Ditto. Just like the previous 3 years. If we make 3's and create easy baskets off turnovers we can beat anyone. If we are forced to play a slow, half court game, we have no clue how to run a productive offense. That my friends is due to not having a true point guard who can play D1 ball. Nothing will change until we get that missing link.

as i stated in fl game comments.
as a coach sometimes there is nothing you can do.

I had a team a few years back..we were playing team we had beat by 40 3 weeks earlier....
we played probably our best defensive game of the year and shot 19% from floor though on this night and missed 11 ft's. we lost.....not a thing i could do but watch balls donk off the rim.
in bball more than any sport
anyone can beat anyone, especially when shots don't fall

Hey "coach", Chism was 1-7 from 3 and had 1 rebound. This season he is averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds. SIX REBOUNDS. Maybe if our STARTING CENTER would get in the paint and go to work it would help out. I guess that's not the coaches job to make changes though...

PS I fully believe that if we stuck Wayne in the paint for the entire game and never let him leave he could easily average 20 and 10. That is far more than he is contributing at the moment.

A) Nobody cares about your "coaching experience".

B) Funny you keep saying sometimes there's "nothing you can do about it" yet Pearl's teams keep making the same exact mistakes. It just happens a game like this, it's all exposed. So stop acting like tonight was some fluke, it happens all the time, it just happened tonight UT paid for it.

Chism and co miss just as many 3 footers as 20 footers. This is not a great shooting team.
I am not saying there is no blame on Pearl but he does not get it all.

Chism and Tyler are listening to scouts that are telling them to improve from away from the basket and are trying to do that and in the era of the 3 ball it reigns supreme.
I would put chism in paint and bdub and they would never leave, but that is me. Tyler would be on a wing depending on his matchup or with back to basket on smaller forward or bigman and you can run it like that with the flex.

Until we have constant scoring threat in the middle....which none of them are right now even if wide open...
Then people will pack in which limits movements of the offense and we will have to hit 3's to open it up.....last 2 games we missed.

Make Wayne stay in the paint, and I guarantee you he contributes waaaaay more than he does now. He has the talent and skill set to be dominant down low. That's on coach for letting him float on the perimeter, which almost limits us to one and done on the offensive end considering our best rebounder is living 20 ft away from the basket and thinks he is the next Ray Allen type shooter. Hard work is what this team needs, along with a better and more efficient half court offense.

Chism has enough offensive skill to be a monster in the paint at this level.
