Serisouly. Don't even try.

PLEASE....don't post crap on any recruit's Facebook wall. This foolishness scares recruits away. You're not "selling" the program, you're essentially telling the kids that UT fans are creepers. STOP!

You say you want to stalk a 5*WR? Go right ahead...that doesn't mean post messages on their wall and carry on some long argument with a rival fan about which school is superior. Why on earth would anyone want to spend 4 years in Knoxville where they will be constantly bombarded by creepers? I know I'd think twice.

Just putting this out there...

Not to mention its an NCAA violation. Not that the stalking stuff isn't bad enough, I'm just saying...

Amen!!! My friend sends friend requests to every major recruit we go after and it pisses me off. If I'm a big time high school player, I would tell everyone to leave me the hell alone.

I would like to suggest that anyone caught posting garbage on a kid's Facebook page be forced to use this as their avatar.

ease up big guy. jesus christ its really not nearly as big of a deal as you are making it. half of the people who post on people's facebook are just telling them good luck with their decision. i dont personally leave any comments, but either way id really like to see how that is a recruiting violation.

I'd have to agree the Facebook thing may be taking it a bit to far after all it is a sight for "friends" to communicate. Never been on facebook so don't really know. I like my privacy and I'm sure some of these recruits do as well, they have no escape. Some may like the attention though

I don't if posting is a violation or not...but it sure as hell makes you look like a creeper.

Its one thing to browse for their status...they make that info public. Its completely different to bombard a kid's page with declarations for why they should come to UT. I don't understand how anyone could think they're actually helping by doing so.

ha i agree with you for the most part. i really see nothing wrong with someone in college or younger posting anything to them, but if your older than that, it starts to become creepy. and my main point was that there is no way it could be a violation, and if you think it is then you probably need some common sense.

I was told that the only way it can be a violation is if it is a group (Jac Smith to UT, for example) founded or led by anyone involved with the university...including students.

they arent recruiters and YOU arent their daddy.....ppl will do what they want!! and if a recruit gets scared by someone saying come to UT and goodluck then they dont need to be on the SEC stage(big games, national tv,etc)

Not to play devil's advocate, but they can reject the request as easily as they can accept it. In accepting it, they allowing you certain privileges regarding their lives. I have a facebook and I admit that I've added a couple players here and there. The only time I've ever actually talked to one was to find out where Markeith got his hat. I see no problem with it. I don't think posting crap all over his wall is the answer, but I also think that it comes with the territory. It's 100% avoidable. These players can decline the requests, or not even have one. But when they accept it, they are giving people free reign, to a certain extent.

Agree 100%.

Asking for information about where somone got a hat is TOTALLY different than "OMG! Come ta UT cuz yur da bezzzzt!"

If one of my 7th grade students did it, I could understand. Most of us on here are grown men and women. Unless you're smoking hot and female, its not cool.
