That does not make you a recruiter...thats called being a fan.
Its one thing to go to a game that you know a dozen recruits are at and scream your lungs out...its a totally different thing to take time to post some creepy message on their facebook wall and then have a 30 post argument about why UT is better than UGA or UF....on THEIR Facebook wall. I just don't see how any right-minded UT fan would condone that.
I beg to differ. One of the integral parts of being a "recruiter" is influencing. When you are at a stadium and screaming to make the stadium louder and there are prospects on official visits at the stadium, you are influencing them. When you are wearing UT clothes in public and a prospective recruit sees you (and maybe others) doing so then it influences them. I'm not saying they think "oh that guy at the mall has a UT shirt on so I'm going to UT." But it shows the kid we have fans that are proud of our school. I didn't even mention kids at UT painting the rock with prospective commitments names'. Is this wrong? It's recruiting and we're all a part of it. And furthermore, being a fan and a recruiter isn't mutually exclusive. You can be both.
Secondly, did you even read my post? Here's what I said, "While I don't necessarily support posting 'Come to Rocky Top' on prospects' facebook walls... " You need to learn to read more thoroughly, sir. Next time you want to be self righteous you may want to try to pick apart someone who was wrong.
