You Either Are or You're Not

I agree anyone has the right pull their donations for whatever reason they choose. But much like this school that said they expected some backlash and the loss of some funding based on their declaration of inclusion, those donors should expect to have their values questioned as bigoted and homophobic.

Since this story has made national news I would not doubt if some LGBT friendly groups have offered some financial support. It sounds like the decision had already been made to close though.
Probably. But as I have said, because of the leftist wokeism that has been demonstrated as being important by the administration of UT, they won't see any more donations from me. So I guess that makes me a bigot.

So be it. It's still my money and I can do with it as I please.

Of course they are bigoted and homophobic. I mean they have limited funds, like everyone, and they want to use those funds to help a cause. In this example they wanted to help kids receive an education at a Christian school. That is what they were giving away their money to promote. The mission of the school veered dramatically and now they don’t want their money going there. So let’s call them bigots.

I don't have the knowledge level to get into an argument in this. What I do know is that the Bible is the word of God, Jesus is God, and God said that homosexuality is a sin. The dots are not too hard to connect. While Jesus might have welcomed them, he probably wouldn't have let them continue in their sinful ways. The left probably considers that bigoted.

You can try to spin this anyway you want, but in doing so you are missing the point. The administration of the school did what they wanted to do, and that resulted in the donors (that didn't share the acknowledgment of the leftist alphabet soup) pulling their funding. If you support their decision to 'welcome all kids', then why don't you pick up the ball and send in a donation? For that matter, why hasn't the alphabet community picked up the ball and sent in funding? The people that previously funded that school obviously felt it is an affront to their values and decided to go elsewhere with their money which is their right. What I am somewhat surprised about is that the left hasn't started calling them bigots and homophobes.

Well I have extensive knowledge on it and you nailed it. The Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Paul, Moses, etc. aren't debating this issue. It’s clear in Scripture. Those aren’t Paul’s words, they are the words of God. We shouldn’t elevate the words Jesus spoke in the flesh over any of the other teachings. Furthermore, not one time does Scripture positively affirm homosexuality.

Grace and truth! Love people enough to tell them the truth. Our church doors are open to everyone. But we aren’t gonna lie about what Scripture teaches or ignore what Scripture teaches as part of some outreach initiative.

“Veered dramatically”? The only info I have is what was in the linked article. It sounds like this was always the stance of the school admin. They just added it to the bottom of their mission statement.

Did their curriculum change? Were they still having Bible study? Did they think the kids were no longer getting a good education?

If it was always the stance, then why did it need to be added?

You think people that stopped their individual charitable donations to an entity should be outed as bigoted?
Sounds about right, I guess.

Forget the religious implications. Lets just look at this from a business perspective. They went in with eyes wide open expecting donations to be halved.

I've got nothing to add on that.
Brings their “financial misstep” under even more scrutiny. Figured there was more to this story. There is.

Still curious about the closing of a pro-LGBTQ Christian school in Kansas City? An update — GetReligion

here is the Kansas City Star expose that ^ breakdown references -

Outed?

I’m not calling for anyone to be doxxed. But, should they come forward and publicly state their reason for pulling donation to a school because they are welcoming to LGBTQ students then they can expect to be called out for taking a bigoted stance.

So not financially supporting something that takes a direction you disagree with is now bigoted?

So you’d love for them to voluntarily place themselves before your firing squad, but you don’t want them “outed”. Ok.

Why is this bigoted?

Oh and you have to make a public spectacle of your decision to no longer voluntarily donate to an organization.

@hog88 You got some extra building materials lying around? Need to build you a stage, hire a camera crew, etc. We need to know all the details surrounding your decisions to either donate or not to donate to particular organizations, causes, and charities. Defend your bigotry!

I was responding to someone who said God appeared on Earth as a carpenter 2000 years ago to speak directly and clear up any confusion.

Seems to me there is plenty of confusion left behind or it would not be in question to this day.

When that decision is based on race and/or sexual orientation or the support there of? Yes, that is pretty much the definition of bigoted.

All the school was saying is “come as you are and know we are not judging you”.

Again, it’s a choice they are free to make.

🤦‍♂️

I said “Should they” not “They should”.

Please use caution when playing with matches. Your straw man will catch fire. 🙄

Yes, and should they choose to come forward they would face righteous scorn. That’s your position above in the first response.

I’m not trying to enter the biblical discussion here, but -
What do they mean here? What does it mean to “believe in their holiness”?

I don’t know. Their ability and effort to grow their relationship with God. But I am throwing darts, not really sure what they mean.

This all comes down to affirmation versus repentance.

A biblical approach would be something like “We love you. You are welcome here. We want to help you fight this sinful behavior so that you can walk in the way of Christ”.

What is happening in this situation. “We love you. Jesus loves you. And you are perfect just the way you are”. Which is a lie. If people aren't willing to call homosexuality a sin, they make God out to be a liar. If they aren’t willing to fight sin, choosing rather to celebrate it, they mock God and defy His Word. There is no such thing as a “Gay Christian”. Just like there isn’t a “Greedy Christian” or an “Adulterous Christian” etc. There are just Christian’s (myself included) that need to repent and fight against the sin in their lives in order to worship God in a manner that is worthy of His Holiness.

Now I realize to many, this is foolishness. I shared it anyhow.

Ok, I’m confused and maybe you can help me. I stopped donating to the Boy Scouts when they started allowing gay Scout Leaders and then when they allowed girls in it sealed the deal for me. However I’ve always contributed to my old 4-H chapter even though it’s been co-ed forever and I don’t think there ever was a ban on gay chapter leaders. Am I a bigot?

WTF... that article has all kinds of nonsense bombs.

So now, we have lesbians identifying as Christians now?

Matthew 5:17-19
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:6

6 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
