If your decision was based on gay scout leaders then yes you made a bigoted decision. Exactly what does being gay have to do with learning to tie knots or pitching tents (obvious jokes aside)? And have you seen the decades of abuse within the organization by straight scout leaders? BS were doing their best to keep up with the Catholic Church apparently.

Lifting the ban on gay leaders and allowing girls was years apart? So did you pull your donation then start again?

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

An openly and proudly gay scoutmaster is incompatible with representing the characteristic of "morally straight" (so is an open and proud adulterer or fornicator). One who cannot lead by example should not be a mentor for young boys.

I have no problems at all with people having the right to do what they please with consenting people (including gay sex), but their rights end when they want to force someone else to accept that behavior as moral and righteous.

Love the sinner hate the sin. You can't guide young boys to do that when you are openly embracing a particular sin.

BSA lost all its stones once they let the whole pedo thing go on for awhile (like the Catholic Church did). Once that came out, all their previous stances fell like a house of cards. Now they are run by wolves in sheep's clothing.

And pedophiles (in BSA or elsewhere)? should have been burned at the stake. That is not a euphemism. True adult/kiddie pedos, once guilt is proven unquestionably, should be executed in the most public, humiliating and gruesome method possible. So that 1, we rid ourselves of them and all the future generations they spawn through hurting people and 2, so that horror and fear falls on everyone else who might ever consider it.
