What is interesting about this comment is that every coach and every player for a college team says that and if UConn wins again, for the last four years you are literally talking about every D1 Coach and player except for UConn.
Yes, that's a valid point. But UT is one of only a handful of programs that can reasonably expect to make the Final Four and win championships on a consistent basis. We've reached the Final Four more than any other WBB program and to fail to do so for four straight years, with one of the most talented rosters in WBB, could be cause for termination. Hart doesn't want to fire Holly, but he certainly could.
Ya win some, you lose some...I can't fault the young lady, I may hate UConn but they are the best program in the country...Amari Rodgers spurns his own dad and de-commits from USC commits to Clemson...I mean...I guess that bugs you, that we can't have every recruit we want like we used to...until we win something we're like everybody else...goes for all sports.
You should want to play for the state school with the pedigree we have. We're talking about a program with 8 titles. It's her right to pick the school she wants--but don't give us this nonsense about UT losing too many games. We're not vandy. That's BS. She defected.
In the PC Warlick states that both Carter and Graves had broken fingers and that Reynolds had a concussion and that she wouldn't play her.
As I've said, certainly he could but what would the rest of WBB think about firing a coach that has made the tourney every year and the E8 in 3 out of the 4 and what coach would come here knowing that if I can't better that every year Hart will fire me?
You summed up the state of the program in the last post and did not even realize it.
You casually threw out that she did not even visit UT. Does THAT not speak volumes?
Were we trying to hide the injuries?. . Why were we not told this before?... OK then,,,,If the ball never made it across half court I would give your argument credence, but coop, Nared and DD got it across consistently,,, A lot of the turnovers had nothing to do with defense, many were unforced...Why didn't we feed the post more? ,,,,,Why didn't we move "bodies and ball" on offense instead of standing around... Why didn't we hit cutters (Because there weren't any)... Thats coaching folks.
I saw the Cuse coach calling movement and plays...Coaching!
Actually, I was asking if she visited and assuming based on the articles you posted that she did not visit.
I think it says she got an offer from a school that's won the last three national titles and we had players like Cooper and UConn is losing some players and she admittedly liked former UConn players so...If I hate to lose, which she said, why would you not go with a frontrunner?
They would think we're serious about winning, and the ones who didn't think they could get the LVs to the Final Four in 4-5 years with a roster loaded with McD's AAs wouldn't come. Aggressive go-getters with confidence and the ability to develop quality players at a program with top resources and facilities would view it as an attractive challenge.
The main reason for making changes is that our current HC is failing to meet key goals in performance, recruiting and player development, and it is reflecting negatively on the program and its long-term financial health and reputation. When you realize that a person can't do the job you hired them to do, it's best to make a strategic change.

This is symptomatic of the problem. Recruits don't think the LVs are having a down year; they think the program is down, and they don't have confidence the coaches can turn it around. Top recruits want to play for winning teams and confident coaches, and that's not how they perceive the LVs.

As I've said, name the man or woman, go after him or her and then deliver three E8's in four years or be fired.
Not too mention recruit and land all the Mickey D AA's due to tradition alone, apparently.
It's easy, We're Tennessee!
Ummmmmmm.........OK........you made my point again....do you not want the LV to be a front runner again? She did not want to even visit us. Let that penitrate the "homer" in you. She does not think this program is a winning program any more!
Your, "what coach would want to come here if we fire CHW" is pretty ignorant also, by the way.
As another poster pointed out, ANY top level coach that loks at our history and the fact that we have SOOOO many schollys to give. Its a great coaches' DREAM!

So.....once again.....just to be clear for everyone.....you are HAPPY with the E8 3 out of 4 years with the talent we have on this roster over the past 4 years??????
Don't kid yourself. This is a top 3 women's CBB job and Hart would essentially have his pick of whoever he wants to be the next coach. Staley would be my first call as we did the right thing out of loyalty by giving Pat's friend the job, but now it's time to turn over a new leaf and get some new blood in there. It won't happen as Hart has no balls, but to say we can't do better than Warlick is just asinine.
If you think a coach who has no idea what the problem is or how to fix it-- and says so explicitly, with a hangdog, befuddled look on her face, in interviews-- is the best a school with UT's tradition and resources can do, then that's your viewpoint and I'll leave you to it. :hi:
