I think the difference for me is that I have a lot of respect for Nick Saban's coaching style (none really for him as a man), but simply as a coach, Kinda like Billichick. Urban Meyer, IMO, is just a gimmick coach that hit the jack pot with Alex Smith at Utah and then again at Florida with Tebow. I don't respect his style, nor do I respect his talent as a coach. I think anyone qualified enough to be a D1 head coach could be successful at Florida. They have enough talent in their back yard to just roll a ball out on the field and just say go play, that doesn't take any coaching skill.
Saban is tough and gritty and dirty. And his teams play hard nosed smashmouth oldschool football. IMO, its harder to hate a football team that comes out and just over powers you and beats you up all day than one like Florida that has one amazing player and then runs gimmick plays to beat you like jump passes.
Think of it like war, who would you respect more.. the army that rolls over you with ground forces and tanks and just pounds you into submission, or the army that just sends spies and suicide bombers to beat you.
I don't think I could hate Alabama more than I do Florida. I despise Florida football. I want to beat and dog Alabama, but I at least respect the way they play.
If not for the defense and a lot of luck, Florida doesn't win anything. For all that think UM and UF offense can not survive without Teblow
[edit] Junior (2005)
Heading into his junior season, Leak had to learn a third offensive scheme in as many years. He was touted as a possible Heisman Trophy candidate. Chris won his first five games, including a big win over SEC East rival Tennessee, but struggled in the option portion of the offense. Since Leak was a drop back passer and not the ideal choice to run Meyer's spread option offense, Meyer tweaked the offense to tailor it to Leak's abilities after the Gators struggled midway through its schedule. The result was successful with the team winning its last two games against ranked competition in 2005.
[edit] Senior (2006)
Heading into his senior season, there was speculation that Leak might not be the starting quarterback in 2006 due to the emergence of talented freshman Tim Tebow.[1] This speculation proved false when Florida head coach, Urban Meyer, publicly endorsed Leak to be the starting quarterback and affirmed that Tim Tebow will play the back-up role. Preseason analysis showed that Florida had the hardest schedule in the country. Florida would have to play Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia in back to back weeks. The 2006 season proved to be a redemption year for Leak: leading the Gators to their first SEC Championship since 2000, and a spot in the 2007 BCS National Championship Game against Ohio State University (their first championship game appearance since 1996). Leak also broke many University of Florida passing records set by Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel. He eclipsed Wuerffel's record for career passing yards at Florida during the 2006 SEC championship.

Leak broke records primarily because he started for four years. See also David Greene at UGA.
UF's 2006 national title was due largely in part to a great defense moreso than Leak. NO ONE expected him to out perform Troy Smith in the national title game. I know I didn't.
That's right I forgot...it's okay to speculate about Kiffin supplanting Meyer as the East's top dog, but UF fans aren't allowed to mention John Brantley without catching hell.
Truth is, barring injury UF's QB situation is in much better shape than Tennessee's for the next 2 years.
I love how you criticize us for saying this, but spew off garbage about 5 in a row like any of that pertains to the future.Nonsense...Brantley is unproven and can't run as well as Tebow.
However Kiffin's highly rated recruiting class is proof positive that Tennessee will own Florida for the next decade.
