Who's hyping Brantley other than Gator fans who've seen him play? ESPN? I'll say it again, UF's QB situation is in good hands for the next two years with John Brantley. He's not Tebow, and he won't have to be Tebow to be successful.
And no, I won't be surprised if he makes a mistake or two as a first time starter. However I'll be very surprised if whoever is under center for UT has a better year than Brantley.
You are ridiculous...Kiffin was trying to win the game...He got into Meyers head so much he almost pulled it off with a rebuilding project of a team...You keep saying that to yourself when Kiffin;s future teams are stomping mudholes in Meyers teams...Then come back and tell us he wasn't trying to win the game lol:
Nobody here is saying otherwise...You are the one on here claiming you will be in good hands with Brantley next year and I promise you, Things are going to be VERY rough for UF next year...You are losing most of your team and while you have talent its not going to be near on par with what you had the past 3-4 years....UT is a good year away from having a steady QB situation.
I'm willing to bet you were one of the people believing that. I thought that for some time. I didn't think your defense would bend over like they did.
We are getting to the point to where objective discussion is not possible.
tvolsfan and I have been respectfully disagreeable for as long as I've been on this board. BeecherVol and I agree more than we disagree.
You on the other hand....Kiffin can "get into Meyer's head" and lose by 10 points every year as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't change the fact that Kiffin was afraid to call a pass play while down 17 points in the 4th quarter.
So because he didn't pass he was just trying to keep the game close is that what your saying?...We ran the ball great that day and yes passing a few downs late might have been the way to go however not having confidence in your QB can tend to alter your play calling...Kiffin had ZERO confidence in Crompton that day and with good reason, He single handily lost the UCLA game...Kiffin would not even let him pass on 4th and goal against UCLA that day...Crompton was playing horrible but he was our only option at QB...So he put the ball in the RB's hands and let them try and win the game....so i mean if you want to prance around and claim Kiffin was happy to leave the swamp with only a 10 point loss then you do that, We know better than that.
more than you hate florida soon because nick saban recruits better than urban meyer. nick saban is a better coach than urban meyer . he will unfortunately turn bama into a powerhouse.florida is near the end they will fall off because urban meyer has been playing of tim teblow the whole time he has been at florida.lets see how good florida is next 4 years vs alabama you will see and then all these people so happy that florida lost will be like i wished bama wouldn't have 1 because if bama wins the nc that will be 13 and florida dont have more than us now bama does so if bama does win it all that is all we will hear about next year that is all my retarded father n law and all the keepitinthefamilynation will talk about i hate florida but i hate bama so much more hook em horns and go vols
I just think its funny how reactionary people are in college football. Last year Urban meyer and UF beats Alabama, and UM is the best coach ever, and now, this year, Saban wins and now He is the best ever and will own Florida... Come on people, it remains to be seen which one of these great, evil coaches will come out on top.
You don't go 56-10 in 5 seasons all based on luck and talent. If talent determined who won, then Ron Zook wouldn't have been 23-15 in his 3 years at UF.
Meyer is a great coach, maybe one of the best, and as long as he is in Gainesville, UF will be successful and consistent to some degree.
Also, people that say UF has no shot against UT next year because they can't pass are foolish. The offense will look entirely different next year from this year, because Meyer and Co. always design their offense around their personnel.
UF will be flinging the ball around next year, and with all of the talent at WR, especially with some key players coming back from injury, UF could be really good at it.
UF is no longer in rebuild mode, they are in perpetual reload. Another top 10, or even top 5 recruiting class this year will further support that.
